I'm packing my bags to bring Taka back to live with my sister. My sister lives in the countryside. 200km away. The new family adopted monkey Taka and Taka will be adopted by my sister's family. I cried because I had to say goodbye to monkey Taka

I know your heart is breaking. My sincere condolences for what the circumstances. I remember watching the first video of this tiny boy with the dried sap embedded into his fur and stuck to his skin, how you stayed up with him on the night he was so sick and throwing up, ending up at emergency clinic. His learning how to dive in the pool. It's amazing how we find ourselves investing our emotions in these tiny loyal creatures so very far away. Many hugs to you, Taka & Tiki from Louisiana, USA.

Can someone tell me why can they sell monkeys on the sidewalk but nobody is allowed to own one ? Does not make sense.

If she’s keeping the baby, this makes no sense. If she’s keeping one, why not keep both or send them both away. Now they are separated and they could still come and take the baby.
Adult Taka needs a large space and freedom to play. As for baby Tiki, I don't feel secure leaving him for fear of problems. I believe I can protect Tiki.

In many families there are times when the siblings have differences so I'm guessing there were times when you and your sister had differences, too. Here she has really stepped up to the plate and supported you. It is so fortunate she is there, willing and in a position to help. It is sad that Taka had to go away but at least the trial has probably made the bond between you and your sister even stronger than it was. It is clear she really loves you. I have been watching the videos of her and Taka and I find she has a really good heart. She showers Taka with affection. Hugs him. She always has a smile for him. She is making the adjustment so much easier for him probably sensing how hard the separation is for him. I am also thinking at the same time that the change of environment may be good for Taka at least for now. He had a lot of pent up energy before the move. He seems calmer now. It may be because he misses you and so is not his usual self. It could also be because he is in an environment with lots of space to move about. He loves your sister but she will not replace you in his heart. There will be a place in his heart for both of you. You saved his life when you first adopted him and on more than one occasion. Your love for Taka motivated you to make the best decision for him and thus again you saved his life. Let no one diminish you. You are a wonderful person.
