I have not watched any late night shows since they all started bashing the President. The previous hosts (Leno, Carson, Letterman) at least had a more balanced VARIETY show. These jerks open their shows with Trump bashing. I'm out!

I loved him on the Colbert Report. I knew he was playing a character and not his real self, but it was far more effective at getting his point across than what he does now. Then again, everyone went crazy after the 2016 election. Now none of my favorite Daily Show people are funny. Look at Samantha Bee now. She’s not even funny anymore. She’s just a scold.

To me he on the Colbert Show even was a smarmy little shit only putting on a persona of a Republican to make Republicans look stupid through jokes before his audience. Colbert's ego is too high and he is so full of smarm that it makes it impossible to have a personal conversation with him. You can get into Trumps head and Charm his ego and Trump will then see/treat you and your ideas as friendly and work with you. Colbert on the other hand is so smarmy ideologically/personally conceited that his whole comedy persona is just a cover for the seething hate for others in him hiding underneath. It's not like it's hard to detect, every word out of his mouth stinks with disdain for others.
I thought he was funny back in the Strangers With Candy days, but then he got onto his whole Bill O'Reilly parody shtick and it was just the same over-the-top blowhard gag over and over again.
Colbert doesn't strike me as someone with an actual political stance. He doesn't even strike me as particularly intelligent. He's just a talking head saying what the higher-ups tell him to say. I could be wrong, but that's my perception of him.

It's not supposed to be purely objective news reporting because comedy isn't objective. Now if people don't find the show and its comedy funny that is perfectly reasonable, but the idea that a comedy program would make someone vote for Trump simply because they felt like the show was being critical of conservative politics is rediculous. People voted for Trump because of his "America First" ideology not because some late-night host was critical of some Republican candidates.

Actually I think that is wrong, and I wish people would stop saying it. The crazy unhinged lunatics on the left, especially in entertainment, I think only really have an effect on two groups, Trump's base, who revel in their antics, and never Trumpers, that already hate him and aren't likely to be budged. People who are in in the middle or flexible, I don't think are shifted away from the left by anti-Trump talk. What seems to have actually moved numbers is the mueller report and fatigue. As the Russia hoax continued on, polls started to show people were getting sick of hearing about it. Then the mueller report came out, and Trumps polling numbers actually went up, and the people sick of hearing about it also went through the roof as democrats continued to try to say there was something there on the obstruction end. Considering most president's approval ratings and poll results closely mirror how people are living day to day, it's crazy that the media managed to keep his numbers as low as they are. For how good things have generally been over the last 2 1/2 years, Trumps approval should be high, but the media has managed to convince people that it is not sunny outside, it is infact raining, raining and storming, which hail made of frozen feces, even though they can look out a window and see the sunshine. However big failures like the mueller report peel back that web of falsehoods they've been building to keep people upset about nothing, even when things are generally going well for him. They can convince people that Trump said a racist thing even when they are taking what he said out of context and completely misrepresenting what he said, and that seems to work pretty damn well, but they can't convince people to ignore the fact that the report didn't get Trump for literally anything they were told it would.
I see two major movers for Trump right now. 1) He skunks his opposition in debates, he holds their feet to the fire(as they will naturally shuck the more extreme positions as they transition from primary race to general election race, for whoever wins the dem nomination) for taking far extreme and generally unpopular positions in their primary races, and then obliterates them on those positions. 2) Something big happens that they can't deny or manipulate, in relation to some of the high profile things going on at the moment. For instance if they uncover some truly shocking revelations about the origins of the Russia investigation, it would very likely guarantee a Trump win. Or if something very damaging comes out about say epstein's death and his relationship with powerful politicians, or even new evidence in seth rich's death that tied it to the democrats. A scandal against the democrat party would virtually seal a second term for Trump, unless a real bonafide scandal comes on the Trump side as well.

@AGZ I have moved from the upper lower class, if you consider that a thing to very steady in the middle class with my ability to start my own business and not be taxed as much. I have hired two employees one of which is my very good friend and with the cutting taxes I am able to keep them happy by taking them to dinners and using fill a seatdiscounts to get them into events here in Las Vegas with their spouses. Personal income my wife has taken home an extra 4000 on her return and she was very anti-trump but likes how much it has helped us. While four thousand dollars does it seem like a lot over the course of a year, it definitely meant a lot to her when she has criedrealizing that the extra money gave us enough to pay off the rest of her student loans while allowing us to do some elective work on our SUV that needed to be done comfortably.
as much as I despise the way he talks sometimes I cannot argue with his policy anymore. He has proven to me, for the most part, that what I was missing in life was the financial freedom to start my own businessand I get tax incentives for donating some of my work in time to fixing computers for veterans through the VA. Now I get to help out moreand get some money in my pocket which is such a big win all around. it also helped my Democrat friend who is in the real estate business since out here in Nevada they started giving better incentives for building low-income housing and while she doesn't make that much on selling those homes she is able to sell a lot more of them thus putting more money in her own pocket. With the stock market being more predictable and less volatile in the NASDAQ, she has a return of investment in four separate companies about 32%. I forget if it was five or six thousand dollars she made more but she seems to be doing really good for herself.
I also am loving the low black unemployment and how many inner-city blacks are able to start up their own businesses without jumping through as many hoops and getting their taxes capped at 25%. With all of this I can easily put up with his dickish nature as long as this cabinet is making my friends and family's life easier

Verdad! I actually prayed for a man like donald trump before I ever even knew he was running. No I didnt pray for someone to give the left hell. I prayed for a president whom would not be afraid to speak his mind and whom would not care about political correctness. I got exactly what I prayed for. Couldn't be happier with him. If Donald Trump was a single celled organism, he'd definitely be a eukaryote and colbert would definitely be a prokaryote. Maybe not even that. It was Stephen Colbert who was the writer and voices of the old SNL cartoon about gay superheros "Ace and Gary". Over the top gay sex acts and stereotypes. By today's leftists standards, he should be fired and be forced to do a lifelong apology tour.
We stopped watching Colbert almost 5 years ago because he went from being funny to being a political hack. Same with SNL.
Colbert used to be a good humorist in the early 2010's. But since he displays his leftist activism, ''spiting'' on conservatives, exhibiting his contempt and disdain disguised as ''humor'', (humor that, actually, stinks hatred), and spending his time to insult his compatriots, calling them ''intolerant'', ''racists'', ''xenophobic'', ''bigots'', ''homophobic'', he's upseting more and more people instead of making them in a good mood.
He doesn't even realize that, just like the mainstream media, he's less and less popular because of his arrogance and hubris.
Colbert hasn’t been funny since Colbert Report. I watched him during the Bush Jr. presidency, but for the last at least 10 years, he’s been irrelevant

Colbert has been playing the same stage character since the 1990s on "The Daily Show": a well-dressed anchorman who constantly speaks assertively yet sarcastically, so you can never really tell when he's being serious. When pressed to back up or explain anything he says, he'll just intensify the chararacter and say sillier things to annoy the person asking. His famous "interview" on Bill O'Reilly's show is a classic example. It's like hipsters who listen to old "uncool" music and don't want people to know whether they like it ironically (in the same sort of way we can "enjoy" a really terrible kung-fu movie) or sincerely.
John Oliver has a somewhat similar pseudo-intellectual thing going on, though Oliver's more like the high school debate team with dick jokes tossed in.
But Colbert, a guy who's been keeping up that impersonation and compulsively avoiding thought for 30 years, has *got* to be on a dozen different medications by now.
He was the guy most likely to get punched in grade school, but he actually deserved it........yikes.....

I used to watch the late night shows because they had really funny jokes. But for the past 2 years, they've become extremely unfunny and doing the same anti-trump jokes every show.
