I must say your video has been the best one so far! It requires a soft touch to get to replace the be!it's and you have it for sure!! Thank you for this!!!
Thanks for this. The drive belt on my 33 year old unit had decomposed to sludge. But following this video and lots of IPA and its now working and sounding amazing. What a lovely player. Wouldn't have had a clue without this video, didn't even realise why it wasn't working.
Thanks. That's great to hear. Unfortunately, my deck stopped working. The transport seems jammed. It's probably a simple fix, but there's lots on top of it at the moment and I don't have a lot of space (or time) to sort it out. No doubt there's another video to shoot at some point.
Yeah, I really like the look of it, that's why I bought it really, but with the intention of passing it on. I really wanted the other one for the bias function.
Sometimes, it helps using a bit of adhesive tape to keep the belt in place on the flywheel. That way, you don't have to worry about the belt slipping off when you try to place it on the motor pulley. Also: a new belt needs to be walked in for a tad of playtime so you might need to readjust the capstan speed at a later point.
Great tip about the adhesive tape, thank you. And thanks for the info about readjusting the speed after a bit of playtime. I'll do that when I test a couple of frequency apps.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into that later, together with another suggestion. I can only pin one comment, so I'll figure out later how to give every person making a suggestion some credit.
The way i believe the service manual states to do the belts is to desoldered the solenoids it allows the pcb to move and makes the change a bit easer and the bit of plastic sticking up on the right i think that is for putting the belt round then you put the motor in place and can push the belt up onto the motor pulley .I have used the belts from malvern hills audio good quality belts .
Eight months and I just saw your comment, sorry. Thanks for the info. My soldering skills are lacking, so anything other than soldering is good for me. Malvern Hills, yes I've used them. I have a feeling they could be Deck Tech, but not sure. Thanks.
I am working on an Aiwa AD-WX888 and it has two flywheels. Looking at how you placed the belt on one flywheel I can follow. But what do I do if two flywheels? This unit has two cassette decks. I could not tell on the second deck how to spool the belt because the belts are basically desintigrated. Can you give any advice please?
Sorry, I don't know. I really just figure it out for any decks I own. Try searching TH-cam for the model number to see if anyone has posted a video. If not, try to download a service manual. Hifi Engine is good for that, but you need a free account. Good luck.

That PC-G2 is a beauty. I spend my teenage years recording tapes on his bigger brother, the PC-G4C.

What you're looking for is the Keuwlsoft Audio Frequency Counter. It's a free piece of software for Android.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into that later, together with another suggestion. I can only pin one comment, so I'll figure out later how to give every person making a suggestion some credit.
@@CBitsTech you're welcome. Keuwlsoft has an entire suite of apps relating to frequency generation, frequency analysis and whatnot.

PS. My deck appears to have seized. I'll do a video fixing it in due course, but many weeks away.
What is ipa?
what's exact length of brand new belt?
Sorry,I didn't measure it.
Does anyone know the belt dimensions?
Sorry, I don't know the dimensions, but there's a link in the video description box to the belts I purchased.
Is IPA isopropyl alcohol?
Yes sir, IPA is Isopropyl Alcohol.
@@CBitsTech Thank u
Spectrum Analyze for Android, it showed 2912kHz.
Thanks, I'll look into that later. We've had two recommendations so far 😀
Ah, I can only pin one comment to the top. I won't pin any yet, I'll figure out a way to give yiu credit later.
That was painful put in that belt on. Just did one. Not the easiest
Yes, it was. How does yours sound now?
