This isn’t a complaint against this set specifically, but I am getting tired of LEGO’s joint pieces being stuck in one color. I’m not asking for every color in the world, but for creatures like this, recolors of joint pieces would be nice.
@@empatheticrambo4890 Actually there are some variety - some balljoint parts exist in red, some in black, some in both LBG and DBG. At least this color variations vould be nice im all four colours.
I am really happy that when you see something positive, you express it! In Germany we have dozens of LEGO TH-camrs and almost all of them go for the "angry people click" thing and trash things all the time to increase their views.
Wow I didn’t think the dragon would be that posable, this is why I watch all of your reviews because you take the time to show all of the ways you can move/use/pose etc the sets and to me this video alone changed my mind about getting this set as I wasn’t going to because I didn’t think it would have that much functionality. Just the stance/posture of that cute dragon reminds me of Croc from Croc: Legend of the Gobbos on PS1. Now a custom Croc MOC based off that build would be sweet.
Got this last weekend for free with the #31152 Astronaut, and guess which one I built first? Yes, not the set I actually wanted to buy, but the one I unexpectedly got as a gift. And I love it! Haven't done the alternate builds yet, not really sold on the phoenix, but the fish seems nice!
I get the feeling JANG had a lot of fun with that dragon. Probably put some fire pieces in the nostrils to finish the look. I'd say the main build on it's own looks like it's worth $10.
This is unironically my favorite creator set of this year, i have the main model sitting in my desk and i can't get over how cute it looks. I love how many details and techniques it uses, even for a smaller sized set. I might be a bit biased because i like dragons in general but man, i really like this set. (and the price is nice too :D)
Thank you for investing the time to build, unbuild, rebuild and review this little set. The fish is fine, the bird is a good bird but that dragon! Stinking cute! And so much fun in it! If we, no, when we get this I better start with fish or bird, I simply cannot see that dragon getting disassembled again once built 😅
I would get crucified by so many for saying this, but this model is the perfect example of the kind of techniques and pricing that a system Bionicle theme would have thrived with.
i wish the purple parts library was bigger, because i'd totally part this set out and replace all the red pieces with purple. oh, and make the wings yellow and orange. and make the horns bigger. for no particular reason 😊
Seriously. 2 years ago there were so few. The Stuntz bikes were kind of a godsend halfway through the year. Then last January suddenly there were so many great $/€10 and $/€20 sets. and I haven't quite looked at the numbers but it feels like it's maybe only slightly less?

I agree. With the Bionicle GWP, designers explained that for the proper friction, grey is the only one to pass QA standards, if that helps explain why
I actually like hard rules about technical pieces. Make it easier to build

I just saw that one dark red plate above the dragon’s mouth as a mustache and now I can’t un-see it.
The main build reeks of adorable dragon partner energy and I love it. He’s just a little guy with a lot of spirit.

Just built this and i was soooo surprised how good the dragon looks. Brick built animals aren’t my favorite but this dragon was nice

The roundness of the fish’s face reminds me of a cichlid.
Both the dragon and the phoenix could pass for 'primary' models, which is rare for 3-in-1s. The fish... less so.
