For as much pride as native Houstonians tend to have, and as much accessibility the city has it constantly seems to be underprepared when the smallest disaster strikes it doesn’t hold up. We’ve seen this a number of times now.
It was 100 mph winds out of nowhere dude
Plus those towers shouldn’t just be rebuilt - the next repeat of this weather will just take them down again. They’ll probably need a redesign. I wonder if any existing designs would have survived. Should they have been built better to begin with?
Everything could always be better
I hope they start building the power towers stronger because the weather is going to be getting much worse.
I heard 1 week to 2 weeks?!?

You were correct. Those are transmission line steel towers.
She said transition. It’s transmission.
Towers were built out of paper clips
Remember San Diego has May grey / June gloom! Highs in upper 60s/ lower 70s by the beach.
Tx republican power grid.
Abbott would rather spend millions sending MIGRANTS to Chicago… LETS NOT FORGET the border boogie man they create for fear mongering
A little wind storm blew them over.
How Pathetic!
Maybe use something slightly strong the next time???
Anybody knows where to charge cellphones for free?
Can't have trees in texas

Scientists said this will be the normal believe it or not.
This isn’t good…watch Texas not be prepared as usual
They can replace those with super duper cell phone towers! More microwave coverage on the horizon!
Those were cheaply made towers! That's what they get for using cheap materials for them! The electricity crew are to blame for using cheap ass towers! And they are probably made with cheap ass materials too.
no? the electricity crews aren't at fault, blame your utility commission who is above them.
