Are you excited about what Devin Carter can bring to Kings?
Yes, super athletic, long for a guard, 3 point shot, active defender. He is definitely an upgrade from Davion and a good future bet that can contribute early. Monty was unable to move the pick and made the best choice he could given the board of players that had fallen and those that were available. If we make a move like BI or Portis, this pick is gold, sure B+ and could be an A-.
Absolutely. After watching the film, wow. His tenacity on defense is something I've not seen even in the NBA. We need someone with swag too. Our roster gets rattled easily and doesn't handle pressure well. He will help with this and hopefully inspire confidence and swag in the guys around him. We absolutely needed to add guys with swag. From what I've heard he's been able to handle pressure situations well. Can't wait to watch him play. Future all-defensive team player I think. I think Monte hit another one.
I'm calling it right now. We will be a top 10 defensive team this year. Everything changed after their players only meeting. Then a couple weeks later Ellis got added to the rotation. Huerter may be gone before the opener, or will get less minutes. Add Carter to all of this... look out.
I think with no top 5 forwards available, sac went for the lotto pick and picked the next best player on the draft which is Devin Carter even though he is a guard.
The longer the pick settles in, the more I like the move. BUT now we wait for the trades lol
Yes IMO definitely was the best pick. All the people saying Mitchell comparisons, it is far and away from the same. He is 2.5 inches taller with an almost +5 inch wingspan. That is leaps and bounds when it comes to NBA terms. Colby Jones, yes can say he is more similar than Devin, however Devin had to shoulder a much higher workload, and the tape shows physical attributes that allows him to do things, again IMO both Colby or Davion could not do. Recovering from 5-8 feet away just with his elite jump to make blocks on shooters where had to fight around screens. We never saw that with prospects like Davion, Colby, Jahmi'us, who are all similar builds. He has a different twitch to him. Yes a trade HAS to be made and inevitably that will be the game changer for out franchise going forward, however if you are asking me to put someone into a game, I would put him in day one over Davion and Colby. He does not need to take difficult shots, he shoots 40 plus from spot ups, and his jump shot is much more fluid compared to mitchell even at this stage. Again just my opinion, but watching him the last year, Keon and Devin are the cornerstorn of defensive guards ala Derrick White, Josh Hart, Caruso that we need to help us move forward.

Carter can play shooting guard, and even small forward at times. We don't really need a true pg with today's type of teams and with Sabonis running the offense often.
Injury protection at the Guard position. We dropped like a safe last season because of injuries. I think well be ok this time.
I think he plays a big role on this team

I just don't think there was a wing that was going to help the cause in the next 2 years especially with the defensive needs from that position. Needed to be in the top 2 to get that type of player this year 😂

The Spurs picked the best defender in this class. The Kings picked the second best defender in this class. Great move.
