Have you thought about bringing a gold pan to prospect the lines of black sands? Really enjoying these videos and your sense of humor. That "Bromm" item was from a Bromo Seltzer bottle maybe? If so, it was used for headaches, stomach disorders and hangovers.

Thank you so much. That is a GREAT point. Especially considering how much has eroded. I actually own a sluice. Look for this in an upcoming video. Since you like my sense of humor, I might be the only "flake" there, but im going to try this in the future.

You are right about the bottles washing out from the landfill rather than in from the water. The cap on the fill burst years ago, and the storm tides are pulling the artifacts from the landfill out onto the beach. Definitely worth a revisit.

Just subscribed to your channel and nice to meet you! It is really tough metal detecting and the eye is a better tool to use there because of HOW MUCH metal is there. Were talking NYC's dump site for over 50 years and layers of metal there. Check out 0:52 to 3:45 the south shore is the best. The WHOLE ISLAND has history, but Dead Horse Bay is the place to be. Find on the map where it says Dead Horse Bay and that is the best location.

The phallic shaped object that you wondered what it was is most likely a part from an electrical switch or some other electrical doodad. The arm part is copper and the thick piece of metal soldered to the end is pure silver. Well worth saving each thing like it that you find. The silver can be separated with a hammer and cold chisel, if not they come right off heating the part with a propane torch.

There is a place in Keyport Nj across the bay from Brooklyn that was called Aero marine . There is a video on you tube about it . It was a place that made the first airplanes that flew on water that operated from 1914 until 1930 . Then in the 50's it became a land fill for the area that closed in 1979 . I lived across the creek in Union Beach growing up in the 70's and would watch the garbage trucks dumping almost every day . Down the end of the street I grew up on was a field they would bring the bulk garbage to I used to have a field day going through the bulk ,finding cool old toys and other interesting things . Also there was a beach called pebble beach in Union Beach across the dump where all kinds of stuff would wash up on the shore mostly plastic dolls that was very strange . I just found out a couple days ago that there is now stuff coming up out of the ground and pouring the beach and water . All my life I wanted to go and metal detect there . My daughter even naught me a detector . But the past 2 years I have been very I'll and don't have much longer to live . I wish I could go there I'm sure there is some pretty cool stuff to find . Thw place is now a industrial park with the old dump at the back of the property that is at 55 Walnut St Keyport Nj that sits along Raritan bay and Chingarora creek . I lived a block away on Ash st .I think it's funny how they built 3 houses on the bulk garbage lot and one day seeing a guy that had put up a above ground pool . He told me he dug up a lot of crap just to put the pool up . Last year I got to see my old house I grew up in get demolished for a new home to be built , there is an old neighbor of mine that still lives there that told me last year that my old house sat on washing machines, refrigerators and a few cars . The house was built in 1960 . Now there is a new 600,000 dollar home sitting there still fresh on the market 200 Ash st union beach nj . Oh yeah the lot on the left of the house was a dumping sight also . Oh man things they used to get away with back then

Hi. Love your videos!! Question- where did all that trash come from? The ocean? Or did it come from those layers in which you pointed out? I read somewhere online that it was a landfill at some point. Read also that people were told to leave their homes in that area as they were going to start construction on what is now the BQE. Any info you could provide would be great. Thank you.
