this is the best album I've heard in a long while, for me better than book of souls. Every song is geniusly put together, melodic, great studio work....every song is special. Tobi has outdone himself. This album is the top of his work, at least for me. Although I still say this song isn't the one that should go to eurovision but eh :P
Paulo Ferreira how would I be an avantasia fan and not know what those are? They were my favourite albums of theirs up to now :P the metal operas are musically great and all and pretty complex, but ghostlights is more diverse and literally every song is good, it's more melodic and really a joy to listen to. Don't get me wrong, I don't feel like the difference is huge between them, but at least I personally, enjoyed this album more than the operas. I will still cherish the operas as a piece of fine musical work but ghostlights is the better album for me :P

Anyone who was surprised that this sounds like Meat Loaf: Have you ever listened to “The Story Ain’t Over”? 😂 “Journey to Arcadia”? “What’s Left of Me”? “A Restless Heart and Obsidian Skies”? Avantasia has *always* sounded like Meat Loaf, and I’d say that’s what the fans have always loved about their music - whether they were aware of the parallels or not.

I give this album an 8/10. The one and only masterpiece of this album is undoubtedly, Let the storm descend upon you. A ture 12 min long masterpiece!! The rest are really good, but this one... damn, what a song!! Great work Avantasia!!!

Ich hoffe trotzdem, dass ich zum ersten Mal daneben liege mit meinem ESC-Tipp. Ich habe 15 Jahre immer ganz gut einschätzen können, ob Deutschland gewinnt oder zumindest Punkte bekommt. War der einzige im Bekanntenkreis, der schon bei den No Angels meinte, das wird nix. Jetzt sage ich: Mit dem Song hätten wir gewinnen können. -.- Mit "Ghost" und der Kleinen von The Voice sind wir zwar auch gut bedient, aber keine Chance auf den Titel. Beim ESC gewinnt Power, Massentauglichkeit und der Bühnenauftritt. Power hätte das hier gehabt, Massentauglich ist es definitiv noch deutlich mehr als "Ghost" und Bühnenauftritt...sorry, es ist ne Rock/Metal-Band!

+Billy C. (rhapsody1979) Really "let the storm descend upon you" is an incredible track.. but i think that Ghostlights is proportionally (in terms of time) "full charged".. i mean is not just the music, kiske has done a great job on it.. and is just amazing
+Sebas Mederos Yeah, that's why i said that the rest of the songs are really good, cause by really good i mean 8/10 or 9/10, but Let the Storm... to me is just awesome. The only weak point i found on this album is Isle Of Evermore, at least for me. Sharon did a great job on that song, but the song itself is too weak for my taste.
I totally agree.. that is the weakest track.. and it's just regrettable cause they could have exploited much more his beautiful voice .. anyway the complete album is an excellent work

Ich hoffe trotzdem, dass ich zum ersten Mal daneben liege mit meinem ESC-Tipp. Ich habe 15 Jahre immer ganz gut einschätzen können, ob Deutschland gewinnt oder zumindest Punkte bekommt. War der einzige im Bekanntenkreis, der schon bei den No Angels meinte, das wird nix. Jetzt sage ich: Mit dem Song hätten wir gewinnen können. -.- Mit "Ghost" und der Kleinen von The Voice sind wir zwar auch gut bedient, aber keine Chance auf den Titel.
Beim ESC gewinnt Power, Massentauglichkeit und der Bühnenauftritt. Power hätte das hier gehabt, Massentauglich ist es definitiv noch deutlich mehr als "Ghost" und Bühnenauftritt...sorry, es ist ne Rock/Metal-Band!

This song is fantastic, everything is spot-on, but at first I didn't believe that it's only Tobias singing. One moment, he sounds like himself, and in the other he sounds like he's singing into a glass tube. :D
