    By my count, Drew uttered the word nib (either singular, plural or nib pun) a total of 66 times in an 11 minute, 24 second video. That averages out to a 'nib' every 10.36 seconds. Magnibicent!

    It's completely understandable why most of the video content has to focus on pens you sell. But I really appreciate the nod to the other ones as well, especially the Elvis nib. Wish you could sell, er, show them all to us more often!

      My thoughts exactly. The willingness to acknowledge the wider pen world goes a long way to giving GPC extra credibility as a specialty retailer. Miracle on 34th Street!

    These nibs are fanibulous without a doubt.
    I was hoping that the funibulous smiley face Kaküno would make a cameo appearance. Perhaps not so fanibulous, but when it smiles at you, you have to smile back. 😊

    I think the Schon DSGN Monoc nib should have a spot in this list. It is a new style of nib to the market, but it is incomparable in its design, with a fully machined titanium tubular nib and feed inserted INTO the nib. Plus, he also does amazing work in color anodizing the titanium nibs to make a wide variety of color options.

    I think the Namiki two-tone nib is gorgeous, but I love it most for the way it writes. Montblanc, Pelikan and Sailor all make fine nibs, but the Namiki nib feels as beautiful as the art on the pen looks. My favorite nibs in my collection for looks, though, are the Sheaffer Targa and the Omas Russian Empire. Omas made a number of spectacular nibs, and Montblanc makes some stunners for its special edition pens. That Targa nib is just elegant simplicity. It's a true classic.

And, honestly, I bought a Tibaldi because of the nib design! (I love the pen, as well.) I love that pen companies extend the artistry to the nib design. Nice that these are not generic Jowo or Bock. 😁
      A different pattern really doesn't mean it's a different nib. Where the focus should be, IMO. If it writes like everyone else, it's really not any different.

    • @paulherman5822
      @paulherman5822 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jolienkrispijn The original 51 could be a little dry writing, but it's still a very iconic pen, absolutely nothing like the modern 51 (get the restored Vacumatic version. Better filling mechanism and higher ink capacity. Frankly, @archivist17 could have added the Parker 45. Still available easily (there are steel and gold nib options for them), and though technically vintage (came out in 1960) they were made until 2008 with the same filling system as Parker uses today (and definitely the inspiration for the LAMY Safari. Similar style nib and virtually identical converter, and the Safari is the newer pen.)
      The Myu 701 is a similar nib to the Parker 50 (Falcon). It's integrated into the section. Really just an extension with tipping. And both are great and highly collectible today.
      The Pelikan is their top level models.
      And then the 65. Though I'm more of a vintage Esterbrook or Sheaffer's (and my beloved Wahl-Eversharp Skyline of the 1940s) fanboy, really not many older Parker pens were not that good. I even have an early 1950s Parkette that writes very nicely. And that was their cheapest pen, then. Kind of equivalent to the package of Dollar Tree ballpoint pens you would get for school today. (But close to $40 USD in today's money.) Frankly, haven't come across any vintage Parker I didn't like.
      And if you watch Doug Rathbun, his "Richard Binder line width chart," which really doesn't match a lot of pens in use today, is spot on for vintage Parker. They were more broad as a difference between them and their closest competition, Sheaffer. 😉

    I'm pleasantly surprised you mentioned the Platinum President nib. I still don't understand why it's shorter than the less expensive #3776 nib and why they mainly seem to use it on pens that aren't called the President, but I also love the Art Deco styling.
    The only nib I'd add that you didn't mention is the old style dual tone OMAS arrow nib stamping. It's also quite unusual that they made them both with a gold-out and gold-in plating design over the years, and it looks good either way around. There was also the 90th anniversary version they did a tiny production run of shortly before going out of business, where the gold tip of the arrow extends and flows down along the entire side of the nib; that one is probably my favourite out of all of them(and they also made that one in BBB... drool).
