Marcellus, My Karcher K2 Compact with 6 metre extension hose arrived yesterday without the promised instructions. Who needs it after your easy to follow video. Well done and thanks!!!
Just fitted my new hose today, you did it the hard way,i just undid the hose from the gun & fitted the extension hose straight on the gun. Then the end that was in the gun into the big round bit on the extension hose, easy.
Marcellus, thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with the rest of us. I, like you, purchased my K'archer K2 with the extension hose and struggled with the fittings to the point that I was going to return the whole thing to Ideal World. Now, having watched your video, I am perfectly happy with my purchase. Thanks once again. Alistair.
Nice one! I found this in similar circumstances to many who have commented. You were right - the connector needed a tool - A strong pair of mole grips, a big spanner, some penetrant, and some force! Many thanks,
wish i had found this video months ago. My extension has been lying in the garage still in pristine condition. Thank you for sharing this with us. Been having fun with my karcher, but now i can have fun further from the water tap LOL.
Hi Marcellus. I just wanted to express my thanks that you created this video clip. I have the K2 compact and decided to purchase the extension hose a week ago. Your clip has saved me hours of frustration at how the extension is supposed to fit. Karcher make fantastic products, however, as you said, the instructions are pretty much non existent. Take it easy and best wishes, Neil.
Karcher should make this an official video! Like many here I struggled to work out exactly how to fit the extension until I saw your video. I do however find the extension very difficult to fully extend without it trying to recoil itself. The material is very tough & inflexible.
Glad that you managed to get it fitted. I agree with you and the only solution I've found is to unravel it and let the wand 'spin' so that the curling is minimized.
Mate you are a legend! Brought this item from B&Q with no instructions in the box got everything out with a K2 Premium and stopped in my tracks lol thank you for subsiding my rage ha-ha
karl shaw I had that sad sinking feeling when I got it. I felt like I'd either been ripped off or I'd missed something. That soon turned to "I'M GOING TO MAKE THIS WORK NO MATTER WHAT!" I feel so much better seeing how my frustration turned into a solution for others. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Thank you - just about to contact Karcher. Worked out only connection was to either end of hose, but sadly the brain couldn't progress any further. Simples really! Sad that Karcher didn't see the problem!!
Many thanks! I have the old style K2 as shown. I thought the extension. Cable I bought may of been for a new model, although the box advertised K2. I was about to buy a new spray gun with the new connector....you saved me the embarrassment! Thank you.
Am I missing the obvious here? The standard hose screws to the front of the Karcher, remove the gun/trigger (slide the yellow U clip away from the trigger, then pull the hose out of the gun/trigger). Mine came like that in the box and needed to be assembled, I always remove it when not in use to make storage easier. Now the extension hose, the end with the black quick release fitting (the one you unscrewed) pushes on to the end of the standard hose you just removed from the gun/trigger. The other end of the extension hose pushes into the gun/trigger and push the yellow U clip back into place. Simples! I can't believe only two people have already picked up on this :)
LOL. Thanks. It is still a surprise to me that Karcher haven't simply put an insert into the box that would cost them next to nothing to help clarify this. Anyway, happy power washing!
Simple as they are, it's instructional videos like this that save so much tension for people, begs the question Why don't these companies have instructional videos on a you tube channel???
You can certainly fit the hose the way Marcellus has set out - but I don't think that is the intended way. I have just received mine and fitted it by taking the original hose out of the gun (release the yellow retaining clip) and slotting it straight into the large black end of the extension hose. Then slot the other brass end of the extension hose into the gun and replace the yellow retaining clip. Took about 30 seconds. But I agree the instruction diagram on the box could be much better - also if you do it Marcellus' way you then have a quick release for the entire hose from the main body of the pressure washer (rather than having a quick release from the main hose to the extension hose). This could be an advantage for storage.
100% Marcellus, someone kindly linked this in an Amazon review. Karcher need to make a link to this video into one of those scanable barcodes and put it on the box.
You've just saved me the embarrassment of returning the extension lead to Amazon, only to have to order it again. I found this video in the nick of time! Question is... Why the hell don't Karcher provide a little sketch with some instructions?!
Hi thanks for the video I have a k2.21 karcher but I need the complete black hose as there are leaks. Which hose do I buy and do you have a link? Also how do I disconnect the gun from the existing hose? Thanks.
Thanks for this! I also had the exact same problem, thinking the hose wasn't compatible. Haven't been able to unscrew the adaptor from the hose yet though, my pliers won't grip the smooth brass part and it's been screwed on extremely tight.
Thank you, at first it looks like you should remove the existing connection from the spray gun lance, plug it into the push fit part of the extension hose then connect the extension hose to the spray gun lance. In fact the picture on the box looks very much like this. However the connections don't match......guess they made some changes in the model ....so it will work with some (older? newer?) but not all. Ahhh... just worked out ....some models are already fitted with the push click connector on the main unit and the hose supplied with the spray gun has a different connector which fits.... making this extension hose simple......but only if you have that fitting.
I did everything as demonstrated in this fantastic video, but when I switch on the button, the extension hose at the end of the machine, flies off under high pressure. Someone knows why and how to fix this? Thanks
Marcellus, Thanks for the video. Did you notice a pressure loss after the extension? I am considering the 6m extension + the telescopic wand (about another 4mtr) and im worried about loss of pressure.
I have not purchased the extension because I wondered if there will be pressure loss. Thanks for confirming. I guess your only option is to go with a bigger pressure washer with a stronger motor. Not sure if that will work. If you do try plz let us know how it works out
Eh! Here is how I did it. Removed the original hose from the gun via the quick release clip. Put that end into the part of the extension hose you are all trying to unscrew. Screw the original hose to the pump. Fit the other end into the extension hose (black fitting) and the other end of the extension hose into the gun. No need to remove the threaded section at all.
Nice one Ken. Just goes to show that there's more than one way to get the job done. That said... the common theme since 2013 and the common question of over 61,000 people on this video alone is.... "why aren't clear instructions in the package?"
My friend who bought the same hose, on my recommendation, had another issue in that the fitting in the gun was different so it wouldn't fit without an adapter which we found on Amazon. Having some instructions/images would definately be an asset
Nothing connects to front of machine apart from the standard spray lance gun hose then remove other end of the hose from the spray lance gun push the big black bit on extension hose onto the bit you have just removed from the the spray lance gun, then the other end of the extension hose you to connect back to the spray lance gun SIMPLE !
Thanks for sharing this video, kindly help me out. it's reduce the pressure, bco I m try to buying 6 meter extension hose. Thanks and regards naval from INDIA
Łukasz R Ha Ha... then it wouldn't be an 'extension' would it? (which is what we paid for) AND it wasn't packaged in a way to allow it to do that because the connector is screwed on not snapped on... hence the THOUSANDS of people who were confused. LOL
+Connor Taylor I was almost MOMENTS away from doing the same thing before I figured it out. I still can't believe that they haven't decided to put a single sheet of paper to provide clear instructions on this yet!
I can't believe there are so many dumb people out there who cannot look at the bits you have just bought and work out how to fit them together to make them all work as designed. We can't all be experts at everything but honestly this is simple stuff. Perhaps you should have spent more time as a kid playing with Lego or Meccano and developed a brain that can actually DO mechanical things. PS: don't ever think of applying to appear on The Krypton Factor.
Marcellus, My Karcher K2 Compact with 6 metre extension hose arrived yesterday without the promised instructions. Who needs it after your easy to follow video. Well done and thanks!!!
i was about to send this back as i could not fit this as no instructions were provided. saw this and its up and running. thank you.

Many thanks,
The reason it is so tight is it's not supposed to be removed.
You are a genius. It is not at all clear how to fit to a Karcher K2 Premium but your instructions worked perfectly. Thank you
wish i had found this video months ago. My extension has been lying in the garage still in pristine condition. Thank you for sharing this with us. Been having fun with my karcher, but now i can have fun further from the water tap LOL.

Well done Marcellus. Thanks for taking the time to help the countless number of people that Karcher don't supply instructions to! :-)
Many, many thanks for your help. Can't believe no instructions included. You saved us a lot of embarrassment sending back etc.
Karcher should make this an official video! Like many here I struggled to work out exactly how to fit the extension until I saw your video. I do however find the extension very difficult to fully extend without it trying to recoil itself. The material is very tough & inflexible.

Thank you very much for this video. I had not a clue how this connected, it was going back until I found your video. Thanks again.
Well done saved me an embarrassing trip back to store thankyou
No probs
Thanks for that. had the extension sitting in a cupboard for a few weeks. I had thought I had bought the wrong one.
No problem. I'm still amazed that Karcher haven't put clear instructions in the box.
Thank you very very much for this!! Just saved me a disappointing/embarrassing trip back to the shop.
You're a genius! I've just spent half an hour trying to force the various parts together - should have looked here first.
Got my extension hose coming tomorrow.
This video is really helpful to me.
Thank you.
Thanks alot for this, mine had no instructions so had no clue what to do.. going to do this now.. Thanks again for taking the time out to show us
Marcellus you legend i was pulling my hair out trying to connect the 2 together and then i come across your Video Thankyou Sir
Legend. Not clear how to fit this at all, you've helped a lot! Thank you.
Thank you.
Cheers fella'. I was trying to figure out by looking at the photos online as to how it actually connects as an extension. Thanks for sharing :-)
Thanks brother for this valuable video, after buying extension i was helpless till i found this video...great help indeed
Thank you - just about to contact Karcher. Worked out only connection was to either end of hose, but sadly the brain couldn't progress any further. Simples really! Sad that Karcher didn't see the problem!!
Top man ! mine extension didn't even come with instructions, going to go and try it now .. cheers pal
You'd think they would have sorted this out by now!
Many thanks! I have the old style K2 as shown. I thought the extension. Cable I bought may of been for a new model, although the box advertised K2. I was about to buy a new spray gun with the new connector....you saved me the embarrassment! Thank you.

Thank you! Even the people in the two shops I went to could not explain this. Amazing :-)
Thanks man, very clearly explained. You should offer to make videos for Karcher!
LOL. Thanks. It is still a surprise to me that Karcher haven't simply put an insert into the box that would cost them next to nothing to help clarify this. Anyway, happy power washing!
Million thanks for showing us the way to do...i was about to return the product..cheers!!
No probs, have fun.
Thankyou very much for your clear instructions we were ready for sending it back!
Very good.does that extension hose which looks a bit more heavy duty tend to pull the actual machine around and keep toppling it over .
Simple as they are, it's instructional videos like this that save so much tension for people, begs the question Why don't these companies have instructional videos on a you tube channel???
Thanks Marcellus!! Just saved me a headache.
No problem :)
Thanks for the for the information. My extension without any instructions so this has helped a great deal.
Thanks for this, I was just ready to send this back as no intructions come with it.

Thanks Marcellus nice Video my K2 300 is up and running.
+KEITH MASON glad I could be of assistance.
I follow the other comments. Thought i have to buy an adapter. Great. Thanks.
Glad I could help
Great video, thanks. Ice cream van tune in the background was a fitting end to the video 😆
Very helpful, thanks, I thought I had bought a useless extension
This information is just what I needed.........THANK YOU.
Glad I could help.
Well im so glad i saw this. I am now going to jump on Amazon to get an extension. Cheers Dude
Good clip helped me out twice thanks for posting
You've just saved me the embarrassment of returning the extension lead to Amazon, only to have to order it again. I found this video in the nick of time!
Question is... Why the hell don't Karcher provide a little sketch with some instructions?!
I TOTALLY agree!
Because they're incompetent! ;)
Hi thanks for the video I have a k2.21 karcher but I need the complete black hose as there are leaks. Which hose do I buy and do you have a link? Also how do I disconnect the gun from the existing hose? Thanks.
Thanks for that! Was really puzzled. And to comment below, the extension will not fit the hand gun etc, the way shown in vid is only way it can go
Thanks for this! I also had the exact same problem, thinking the hose wasn't compatible. Haven't been able to unscrew the adaptor from the hose yet though, my pliers won't grip the smooth brass part and it's been screwed on extremely tight.
Brilliant, your video made it so easy, thank you!
How do you put water without a hose pipe thank you
Hi marcellus, an you give us the link for the extension hose please.
Excellent. Why dont Karcher explain this in the extension kit provided. Thank you Marcellus.
Thank you so much for that. Thought I had dropped a clanger and bought the wrong thing. Simple instructions would've been useful.
Thank you, at first it looks like you should remove the existing connection from the spray gun lance, plug it into the push fit part of the extension hose then connect the extension hose to the spray gun lance. Brother....You saved me.
I haven't used my Karcher K2 for few years, now I can't get the tools in to the gun
, any suggestions please? many thanks
Yeah but how do you connect it to the tap?
Very helpfull video. Thank you.
HI,Could you help me my water inlet hose keeps coming off while i use this washer,do i need a specific hose. Thanks
Thank fuck I found this video lol was about to go raging back into the shop
Informative video....good job!
Thank you man. This is a massive help
Mark share the name and size of the connector
Nice! But shouldn't the length be meters not feet?
Final length is 10 "metres"
What is name this nozzel
Bless you! Thankyou so much for the trouble to show us.
No problem. I hope you get a lot of good use out of the unit. I know that I have - after figuring this out :)
I did everything as demonstrated in this fantastic video, but when I switch on the button, the extension hose at the end of the machine, flies off under high pressure. Someone knows why and how to fix this? Thanks
Sorry for the late reply. Ensure that you hear the connector 'snap' on (if it's the part right on the machine)
Thank you. That makes so much more sense! :D
Marcellus, Thanks for the video. Did you notice a pressure loss after the extension? I am considering the 6m extension + the telescopic wand (about another 4mtr) and im worried about loss of pressure.
kindly help me out, it's lose pressure. after extension hose 6 meter
I have not purchased the extension because I wondered if there will be pressure loss. Thanks for confirming. I guess your only option is to go with a bigger pressure washer with a stronger motor. Not sure if that will work. If you do try plz let us know how it works out
If i want to buy adopter only . What is it call or name ? Cause i want to connect 2 k2 pressure hose with each other for extend pipe..
Thanks. I couldn't figure it out.
Will it reduce the pressure of the pump after adding extension hose?
+Uditha Bandara Wijerathna I haven't experienced any decrease in pressure.
Thanks Marcellus Lindsay :)
thank you so much Marcellus your a top guy
The tool required is a 27mm spanner

Thanks for sharing this video, kindly help me out. it's reduce the pressure, bco I m try to buying 6 meter extension hose. Thanks and regards naval from INDIA
Ah!!! Makes sense!!! Thanks!!
thanks for the info in 2024 👍
Haha You are all funny. You should connect extension straight to Your gun and old hose into Karcher and job done :D. Funny!!
Łukasz R Ha Ha... then it wouldn't be an 'extension' would it? (which is what we paid for) AND it wasn't packaged in a way to allow it to do that because the connector is screwed on not snapped on... hence the THOUSANDS of people who were confused. LOL

You are welcome.
Thanks 👍
I sent this back to supplier thinking I had wrong hose... I feel like an idiot now!
