There's no place like Texas. Enjoy your time while you can before you head to Chicago. That Desert Dome House, cat, steers, and spa were amazing! I LOVED the arrows threw the walls too! How original! I've never heard of a compost can under an off-grid home. Smart idea. Certainly some very creative builders on this Dome house. Such a pretty dress! I'd wear it everywhere I could too.

The weather was unseasonably warm. I believe a major storm came through and brought temperatures down to the 50s. Your timing for being in Texas was good.
I love Marble Falls. You need to go to "The Blubonnet Cafe" for pie and coffee while you are there. Also, make a drive over to Fredericksburg and go to the big pink German restaurant with the domes. I don't remember the name of it, but it is well worth the drive and the wait! You might want to make a reservation at the German restaurant.

Even though I'm partial to Colorado, cuz that's where I live - glad you guys got a chance to warm up in sunny Texas. Buying land and putting up a dome or something equally quirky and cute - is an awesome idea - where ever you "land" (pun intended)
Many, many years ago (really - like 36ish years ago), I travelled from my home in South Florida, in the middle of winter, to take some depositions in Marble Falls. Back then, I had never heard of Marble Falls (or even of Texas Hill Country) -- and with no direct flights from here to Austin, I had to fly into Dallas and drive 3+ hours to get there. I happened to go during a cold snap, so the ground was covered in ice and snow, and the Colorado River was frozen over. I was lucky enough to get to return to that area purely for pleasure in December 2016 to visit with good friends in San Antonio, but again just in time for a major cold snap. Our friends are travel writers who took us on a week of fabulous touring of San Antonio and Texas Hill Country, and even though temps got down as low as the 20's and 30's, it was sunny and beautiful every day and we loved it.
Y’all gotta let me be your tour guide if and when y’all give San Antonio another shot. My husband and I can take y’all to the cool bars, eats, and even to our CrossFit gym. 🤗

Chemex coffee is sooo clean and yummy! highly recommend you try it sometime! its obviously a wee bit more time consuming than just your autodrip coffee, ugh but SO WORTH IT.
If you love thise domes, you haveto check out Tyler and Todd, Canadian couple who have built a geodesic dome from scratch on off grid land! They are so amazing, and did it all themselves near enough except for planning issues that needed experts. But what they have built will run those texts ones to second place 😉

When we moved to Dallas for a few years after college I first had chicken fried steak. Ate it for years without the gravy as I’m not a big gravy fan. Once I finally tried it, there was no going back! 😂 Maybe Eric should try and get on Survivor with his fire making skills!
