Garth Brooks was a special thing between my dad and me. And by far his two favorite songs were the extended versions of friends in low places and the thunder rolls. My dad passed when I was 11. I can't listen to these songs without crying but I still keep listening to them because of what it stands for. I'll never stop listening to Garth it's a tie to my dad. Garth and the Broncos.
Oh sweetheart that's way too young to lose your Dad. I lost mine at 19 and I know THAT was too young. I pray for your sweet spirit and I just wanted to let you know your story really touched my heart. ❤️

What a wonderful man, truly sings from his heart and wants us to feel the emotions he has felt when he wrote the music......LOVE HIM!!!!
Garth Brooks is one awesome dude. Tricia, you are one lucky lady. I saw you in concert about 15 years ago. It was great. I am so happy for you and Garth. Most definitely, "She's in love with the Boy". From a very proud Canadian fan forever of both of you 🇨🇦🌈🦋🌟🌟
This Garth Brooks song has always been dedicated to my first wife and her family. It was a short marriage and they put my family and myself down at every opportunity they could. When she took off she took my son. (who was only about 15 months old) It has been over 40 years and nothing has changed except they have managed to convince my son that I was not his father. The song still fits. (thankfully I have had a fantastic wife and daughter who makes it so I never look back - except to giving thanks to the past when this song plays. I have learned however if your second marriage succeeds your first was not a complete failure.

"Friends In Low Places"
Blame it all on my roots
I showed up in boots
And ruined your black tie affair
The last one to know
The last one to show
I was the last one
You thought you'd see there
And I saw the surprise
And the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
And I toasted you
Said, honey, we may be through
But you'll never hear me complain
'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places
Well, I guess I was wrong
I just don't belong
But then, I've been there before
Everything's all right
I'll just say goodnight
And I'll show myself to the door
Hey, I didn't mean
To cause a big scene
Just give me an hour and then
Well, I'll be as high
As that ivory tower
That you're livin' in
'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places
[3rd Verse:]
I guess I was wrong
I just don't belong
But then, I've been there before
And everything is alright
I'll just say goodnight
And I'll show myself to the door
I didn't mean to cause a big scene
Just wait 'til I finish this glass
Then sweet little lady
I'll head back to the bar
And you can kiss my ass

Same. My mom would let me let loose with this song. I’d scream “kiss my ass” at the top of my damn lungs when I was little.

@Street Deacon That hurts to admit to be honest.

The loudest concert I've ever been too...a Garth Brooks one
Garth is the king of country music
Comme beaucoup ex:johnny cash, marty Robbins, merle haggard et d'autres encore (🗼)
It is hard to argue that this guy isn't the greatest.

Blame it all on my roots
I showed up in boots
And ruined your black tie affair
The last one to know
The last one to show
I was the last one
You thought you'd see there
And I saw the surprise
And the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
And I toasted you
Said, honey, we may be through
But you'll never hear me complain!
'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places
Well, I guess I was wrong
I just don't belong
But then, I've been there before
Everything's all right
I'll just say goodnight
And I'll show myself to the door
Hey, I didn't mean
To cause a big scene
Just give me an hour and then
Well, I'll be as high
As that ivory tower
That you're livin' in
'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places
I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places
Friends in crawl spaces
