Just heard this play for the first time on my local (only) Indie radio station, driving along the coast on a grey and cold winter afternoon here in the most isolated city in the world, Perth West Australia and honestly wondered if I was dreaming. There's a lingering thoughtfulness from the past which resides from decades gone by in memory's past. Although that opening guitar is intoxicating for anyone who appreciates great Post-Punk strums, that glides through the air in subliminal texture and tonality. Perhaps what's most interesting is the fact Louse, is from within the American Midwest region and not from Great Britain; however, Sam Souders vocal's desperately thrust a waxing resemblance to Robert Smith of the Cure('s) ideation, almost bordering upon paralleling the classic archetype.
Without listening to the entire 'Passions Like Tar' album, it's difficult to gain a well-rounded formulation and perspective with respect to this band's debut collection. Past EP's don't seem to compare with "Bed of Knives" although nicely organic.

Recently,a young artist told me that the way music is done nowadays has changed and it's not the 80's anymore... to anyone who finds this statement as positive, radical and progressive I apologise towards,but I stubbornly disagree...I have deep love for artists who still make music that way....
