    Ole! It is the first time that I see some British tourists enjoying real tourism in my country and that they do not end up in Benidorm or on the Costa del Sol, basking in the sun on the beach, eating English food without trying the local gastronomy and some of them abusing alcohol. I admire you and I subscribe to your channel. Greetings from Valencia (Spain)

      Greetings , and thank you for watching our channel. We have travelled throughout Europe and Spain is our favourite country , we love its history , geography , it’s people , food and culture. Valencia, what a city we had the privilege of attending the Las Fallas in 2018 , there are no words I have to describe now much we enjoyed it. It’s a beautiful city and we hope to visit again soon. Thanks once again for reaching out to us , best wishes Helen and Martin

      I'm from the same place in the UK as these two and I love Northern Spain. Package holidays do not appeal to me at all. I love visiting historical places and soaking up the culture. The last time I visited I stayed in the Basque country and the owners of the place I stayed had lived in Sheffield where I'm from.

    I stayed at that campsite the first time I visited the Picos 24 years ago. First thing I noticed when I went in reception was a map of Yorkshire. I also arrived at that weird time everything closes in Spain around 2pm. Not realising I went in the restaurant for something to eat. The owner spotted me and said "Ahh. I can tell you are English and hungry. I'll get them to make you a sandwich!" Beautiful area and fantastic memories. I love visiting that area. Only thing I missed was the cable car as it was too early in the season to be open.

      Hi it's a wonderful place , the children have taken over the family business I think since you were there but the parents are still daily visitors. The same care you refer to I am pleased report was evident in the way the next generation operate. I think we share a special memory of the place , thanks for sharing yours best wishes and thanks for watching Helen and Martin

    Monday market in Potes is not what it used to be. But the couple who sells Pulses, sells amazing quality pulses. I live in Scotland and my mum use to get them from them every year for me ! :D

      It was the first time we have been to Northern Spain and it really has changed the way we saw Spain. We had to forget everything we thought we knew about Spain in general on this trip. We have travelled quite a bit 14 European Countries , through Africa and in North America and pound for pound Spain and Portugal are our favourites. Thanks for watching best wishes Helen and Martin

      Hi Jean nice to hear from you, we watched some your Broads Videos while we were away just to keep us hooked into the county we love. Really glad you are enjoying the places we have visited. We have to keep our energy levels up and go out otherwise we would be left with an under exercised cockapoo , not an easy thing to manage. 😂 . Thanks ever so much for watching, best wishes Helen and Martin

    Such a beautiful place and town, with a great route you took
    A rule we have is always look behind you as well…journeys taken are better understood when you just simply stop and take the time to look behind 😍😍 great vlog Helen and Martin 😍😍😍

      We totally agree, we normally look for circular routes rather than an out and back so turning around and looking where you have been is essential . The scenes from our next VLOG (Part 2) blew us away Thanks for watching Helen and Martin.

    Excellent video and what a fantastic place Potes is 👍 What is the road like going up to Potes? Steep and tight? Is it not for the faint hearted? Cheers Paul & Sue 😊

    • @HelenandMartinsTreks
      @HelenandMartinsTreks  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Paul and Sue thanks for watching and you kind comments It's not bad there is a couple of places were it's necessary to go through some gaps in single file but all very manageable in our 7.5m van. Potes is well worth a visit as is the wider Pico's area. Best wishes Helen and Martin

      Thanks for the reply 👍 We live in South Spain and start our summer tour in 2 weeks, heading up through Portugal and then to Spains northern regions. We will be staying at the places you have recommended, thanks. We have stayed in Llanes and Bilbao, so looking forward to the other places. Keep up the good work and hopefully our pathes will cross sometime 😊 By the way, love your van too 🤢😊

    Traveler, your footprints
    are the only road, nothing else.
    Traveler, there is no road;
    you make your own path as you walk.
    As you walk, you make your own road,
    and when you look back
    you see the path
    you will never travel again.
    Traveler, there is no road;
    only a ship's wake on the sea.

    Enjoying watching your video, the scenery is spectacular! We want to explore this area in October, can you give me an idea of the suitability of the roads. We have a 7.2m motorhome and hate driving on tiny roads. Thanks for any feedback. Many thanks, Hazel

    • @HelenandMartinsTreks
      @HelenandMartinsTreks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Hazel , there are passable roads to get around although there are a couple of places where due to rock overhangs there is a need to give way to traffic approaching. We have a 7.5m long van and didn’t have any problems and there were bigger vehicles then us on the site and in the area. We have a sat nav where we can input the vehicle dimensions and never got into any uncomfortable spots. I personally would say that you could do this area quite comfortably with a 7.2m motorhome but it is in the mountains ⛰. Hope that helps if you check out the next VLOG in series there is some footage of driving - th-cam.com/video/f1oVA2padZA/w-d-xo.html. Thanks for watching if we can help in any way give us a shout - we can be messaged via Facebook or Instagram . Thanks for watch Helen and Martin
