It’s a fun hike. If you have a fear of heights it’s gonna get you. My knees were shaking by the top but I just kept telling myself “we’re at sea level” On slippery granite rock that’s vertical you gotta be careful. Have fun! I love this guitar backing track you have here, very pretty tones.
Hello Dan. New subscribers here. What a beautiful video. My wife and I are hoping to visit Yosemite in mid August. All the other videos we’ve seen talk of record crowds and terrible traffic, but it seems most were recorded during holidays and weekends. We’re wondering what the crowds will be like if we visit during the week in late August? Wish us luck!
Hey Doug, thanks for subscribing! So, you’re definitely still going to have crowds and traffic in August-the park might fill a little later than during the weekends and holidays. My best advice is to get into the park as early as possible-between 7 and 8am and park your car for the day close to wherever you plan on exploring/hiking. There’s bike rentals at Curry Village which is a great way to get around the valley if you want to venture out further. There’s also the shuttle service, but I’ve heard the lines to board have been longer than usual this season. Don’t let any of this intimidate you though, Yosemite is still 100% worth it!
@@DanTreks Thanks so much for the quick response! We will be traveling from north Texas in our truck camper to see friends in San Luis Obispo then planning some stops along our way home. We know it’s best to plan far in advance but unforeseen circumstances had us waiting until now. Thanks for the great tips. They will be most helpful!
@@doughutchison6382 The national parks belong to early risers. Hit the gates about 5am and you'll have a few hours to see things before the crowds get crazy.
Would it be easier to access the top of the falls from the Porcupine Creek Trailhead off Tioga Road? You'd be starting at high elevation, not in the valley.
Awesome video

Wonderful video, good job Dan!
New subscriber here love the scenery
Nice trek, Dan 😊
Do you hike along any cliff edges on the way up? Love the video.
A little bit! There’s plenty of space though-nothing too dangerous.
I did yosemire falls in 1997 with jessie. It took me 4hours with my back pack. I stopped more than a few times.😂

I believe you can do it that way too and eliminate some of the elevation-as long as Tioga Road is open.
Top ten in NA? Educate us to the taller 9 in NA. Did we miss something?
I barely got to Columbia rock and I was so dead lol 😂
No shame in that! It’s a tough hike!
