I've gotta work on my mixed media abilities. It's always been a bit of a tough one for me because I'm an overthinking, OCD, perfectionist... lol! Love how fun these are! Another fab job Mark!!

I wondered why I was saving all those glass jars. This is perfect Mark. You could probably dye the grout with acrylic paint to add some color and put it in a plastic bag and squeeze it out like Icing huh? I'm going to make some for my bathroom with sea shells and sand from the beach to hold cotton pads and Q-tips.

What a wonderful tradition. So much better to celebrate the bits and pieces ever day than to shove them in the back of a closet. When aclosr friend of ours died unexpectedly I used some leftover from his stupid Orange monster and twisted tea cans and made tiles. I used a wooden backboard and a large candle mirror and created a tiled mirror for the hall. He remains in our home and I get so many compliments on the piece from some people I wouldn't expect to comment even.

Wow, your jars are beautiful. And it’s a great idea. I love this. I have a lot of odd things I have collected “for a project someday”... that I don’t know what to do with.... but can’t part with... this would be a great way to use them. .... hmmmm... maybe I could apply this idea to an art journal cover.... or a “Memory box”. Hmmmm... thank you for the inspiration. =)

I never get hot glue to mold well. I have much better outcomes with epoxy clays and resins. I love that you can turn, oh let’s not call it trash, discards and make them look like pretty much anything you like. Century old vases, stoneware, pop-art, etc.
This reminds me so much of the mosaic walls in California Adventure’s Hollywood Backlot. I love looking at that mosaic and picking out all the different items. I’m scared that the new Marvel land will result in the mosaic’s demise.
As an homage to the Disney mosaic I intend to create mosaic letters to use in a quote or a saying. I have a glut of trinkets like the ones on your jars. I’m just need to settle on the right saying.

Hello Mark ! Quick question do u use anything to stop glue from sticking to the molds ?
I don't. Hot glue won't stick to silicone molds. Just let it dry/cool completely and it pops right out.
How do you use photos? What would you cover them with? Would you glue them to a base like cardboard or plaster?

A new use for tile grout and you don't even have to mix the stuff which can be messy. Can you paint the grout?

Very cool. Would like to know if/how you grouped it. How can you get a different look than the white?
I'm pretty sure you could spray the grout while it's wet with a watercolor spray. It would soak into the grout and then be able to be wiped off of the pieces after everything is dry.

Just some broken pieces of china that I had...I put them in a rock tumbler to soften the edges, but those pieces look beautiful on jewelry, mosaic, mixed media pieces...you name it! Great to see you Debra!

Mark what would you recommend for tinting the grout? Also, do you think you could add glitter to the grout?
Hm...you could use a food coloring to tint the grout and then spread it on with a knife and as for the glitter, I'm thinking that might be better sprinkled on after it's applied and when it's partially damp. That's how I would do it.

I teach crafts for the elderly. I love the idea of the premixed grout!! We have so many seashells. Questions: 1. Is it diff to squeeze if someone has arthritis? 2. How much time does it take to stick? (Will things slide down?). This is very cool. I wish there was an alternative to hot glue guns for adhesive stuff. This may be an option!
Things don't slide down, it's pretty thick stuff. As for the squeezing, arthritis might play a part, but you can get the twisty squeeze things for the end of the tube and that should be fine.
