Kya is the most underrated character in the series. She’s the best of both Aang and Katara. Kya just gives off cool air energy. Definitely one of the biggest victims of the seasons only having 12-13 episodes. If we had more time I bet her and Bumi would’ve definitely had more episodes centering around them

Kya is actually very powerful bender. Whoever is thinking she is weak because of her healing expertise and not fight, let me tell you she is more than 50 in this time and rest of the benders whoever is fighting with her are in there late 20s to mid 30s. So yeahhhhh she looks gorgeous too😍

I really have always hated the fact that they made her healing the main focus and where she was the best at and just good at water bending when it should’ve been where she was best at both healing AND waterbending(fighting) Like how katara was. What I highly disliked with LOL is how undetailed and totally glossed over so many characters (our aunt Kya included) were. Worse thing is it didn't feel like it was done for mystery purposes but rather sloppiness and laziness.

Also nearly 20 years ago whatever career she had established ended when she was the sibling who voluntarily took on the responsibility of caring for her grieving mother when Aang died, she hasn’t had the need to really use much combat since at least that point in her life. Tenzin’s comment about her “needing to settle down at some point” might hint that she was adventuring just like her own mother and father had.

The parents had a responsibility to that job before and after that child was born; you can't get out of it. My parents did the same thing and I'm okay with that. I can't stand people who are so salty to their parents just because they focus on their work.
You have to understand, not everyone is fully self sufficient as children. There are people who need and want nourishment and it’s completely normal and understandable. Just because you felt that you didn’t need your parents doesn’t mean that everyone doesn’t. More specifically, in Kya’s case, Aang spent more time with Tenzin than with her and Bumi, which further added to her lack of attention and parental care. Not everyone is like you, and people do care when their parents don’t pay attention.

Uhm did you completely miss the point? Do you have siblings who your parents spent more time with compared to you? That was the main issue Kya and Bumi had. It wasn't just a matter of their dad focusing on his work. His 'work' mainly involved favoring his youngest son Tenzin and focusing on training him simply because he was an air bender. I don't blame them at all for being salty about their lack of attention from their dad.
For me it will be kinda sad that kya probably won’t have any children, because if it will be like that then the neck less that katara wore the whole show and mostly all the time during the last airbender, probably won’t continue the family cycle after Kay’s death, but those are only my thoughts, nothing really serious about that, just a little bit sad detail, at least for me

Because fans of atla when it came out were getting older so they wanted to make something entertaining to them but also new viewers
