Fun fact: On 9 December 2013, Sysco Corp announced it would acquire US Foods for $8.2 billion ($3.5 billion plus $4.7 billion of debt), but on June 24, 2015, US Federal Judge Amit Mehta ruled that the combined Sysco-US Foods would control 75% of the U.S. foodservice industry and that would stifle competition. On June 29, 2015, Sysco terminated its merger with US Foods.
I started driving job w/ USF in Port Orange in 2005. I'm 55 now.Still going stong. Seen a ton of changes. But I'm still doin' it. 8 min drive to work. I'm blessed. Our drivers are all cool. We help each other out w/ diff stuff. We've been swamped down here w/ biz. It's crazzy. Restuarnts going full tilt. Late loading trucks for the last few wks. Salespeople even helping w/ deliveries. But I do hate getting to work and the sun's been up 2 hrs already. All good tho. Making the $$ ;)
Component pay is great...Just wish the pay was more steady. We don't have set routes and can't expect same customers every week. So our pay checks are consistently changing. For example: I can run a restaurant route and they may or may not throw a extra airport stop with 4 pallets being dropped. That 1 drop will help big times in pay. Regardless we had our lowest driver make $72k last year.
Just stumbled on your video man and I like what I’m hearin! I have an interview on Saturday April 9th here in AZ. I hope I get the opportunity to drive for US Foods and make that paper🙌🏽
