Proud to be African... it's in my blood... I can't help it... my body moves like crazy... my roots... my ancestors calling from above... my Africa... the smell of the land... the sound of the waves... it's magic...
I am from Chile and I have been following to Salif Keita since 10 years ago, also I was in his live show in Santiago 3 or 4 years ago and most people was enchanted by Keita. He is one of great musician in the world, with such soul and authentic Africa in his blood and voice, the joy, the sorrow, a real master.... I love his music and Madan is one of my favorite songs.. God bless him
Salif Keita has the most superb voice , and this album is a real masterpiece I never tire of. My son wants to travel to Africa because of Salif Keita's music.
This is definitely part of the biggest hits of the world music... Hope that younger generations from western countries listen to this... And may be if the eastern europe starts to open to the world, they will listen to this... 😉
Saif Keita performed in Oman recently. It was at Royal Opera House Muscat, It was magic! Omanis are usually very flegmatic people, but that night we all danced non stop! Everybody went crazy, feeling their African roots, girls in their black burqas and abayas were shaking and jumping and singing...never seen anything like that at Opera House for any other artist, and in a Royal Palace, I love this music, great artist!!!
I heard this song first in 2003 in cotonou, Benin Republic. Fell in love with it instantly, and now there are Afrohouse versions as well.Kudos Salif Keita and best wishes from Nigeria 🇳🇬

I applaud him for what he is doing in Africa to educate people about albinism. People with albinism are discriminated against and often killed. He has a foundation which teaches about vision and skin care and to teach others that people with albinism are human beings. I teach mu students with visual impairments to use him as an example of how they can succeed in a world where they are different.

I just realized my mom had this on her CD that she’d always have in the car. Listened to this song several times a week never knowing what it was till today.
Heard the song a long, long time ago for the first time (a mother that took African dance classes...), forgot who made it and always thought in the years after that this was made by Mory Kante (*fp*). Have been looking for years under the wrong name. I didn't know the prince has albinism...
He he! When we (my friends and I) were teenagers involved in football more intensively than now, we used to jokingly sing this song by telling the name of one French footballer from Reunion. SINAMA PONGOLLE! SINAMA PONGOLLE! As a matter of fact, I'll always be sorry for not understanding some of African languages because I love various African music (singers especially) which I don't understand. Such a pity. Peace from Banja Luka!
