Loki, I don’t like Zemo that much. He has nice motivations but he doesn’t get much screen time and we don’t know much about him. He also isn’t powerful and can’t do anything physical and is reduced to having only a few scenes being with our heroes. He was with black panther for a minute and iron man and cap for a minute or 2. He’s also not that intimidating and his vengeance towards the avengers comes from a mediocre movie at best. i just don’t find him as memorable. Idk it’s just my opinion:) Loki was pretty boring in Thor but he had motivations and was connected to thor. But they really improved him in avengers. This is where they start to give him personality. Loki is powerhungry and wants to rule Asgard and earth but he gets beaten up a lot. Loki is very smart and cunning and is surprisingly funny. They also did perfect slapstick for him. He also caused the battle of New York and was connected to big bad. In Thor 2 pretty much the same but even funnier and he actually teamed up with Thor but of course still did his tricks. Loki gets more and more likable and great throughout the movies. Thanos is better than Loki as a character cause he does way more and is just much more deep. Loki is reduced to a side character but he’s still full of charm and personality. His death was heartbreaking as well.
Loving? He deliberately killed innocent people. Yet went after the Avengers due their apparent lack of concern for innocent life, ACTING as a threat rather than the Avengers who were at least trying to DEFEND people, though poorly.

Zemo is forever my favorite bc he’s easy to empathize with… no cartoonish motivations, just the weight of loving and losing. And he was the only villain smart enough to actually, truly defeat the Avengers. He wasn’t free at the end, but he got exactly what he wanted. He won.
Now that we know that Zemo was technically Sokovian royalty, the line about empires crumbling from within makes even more sense. Sokovia crumbled from within when its royalty (Zemos family) died. Kind of a dumb theory/detail but whatever.

Since Tony had issues with his father and felt Howard Stark preferred Steve over his own son, plus Tony came up with Ultron, Tony basically was a walking bull's eye. The plan to scapegoat Bucky was a good one. It put Steve in a bad position of defending his old friend from a new friend whom he wasn't that close with (he was more work friends with TS). Steve likely knew Tony would go bat shit if/when he found out about which Winter Soldier (the brainwashed prototype/OGWS) killed his parents. Zemo knew exactly where to strike and did so with perfect aim. AND took out the other WSs which frankly needed to be done. I mean Bucky was forced into it while the others seemed to have signed up of their own free will. Imagine if someone else had found them and set them loose. So Zemo may well have done the world a favor as a side quest on his mission to destroy the Avengers. I'll end the friggin' essay here.
This is such a great take! And yes, you are right. The other Winter Soldiers were already killers even before they got the serum. It was explained the in the movie they had been part of an Elite Soviet Black Ops squad with more kills than anyone in Soviet history and then basically *volunteered* for the program. That was also the reason why the serum made them so aggressive and hard to control- it enhanced the existing traits of anyone who got it. Bucky on the other hand had never been naturally aggressive, and the serum hardly changed him at all. (See the First Avenger) which is why they had to use such extreme means to make him kill. You see even when they unfreeze Bucky he kind of just sits there and doesn't do anything until his conditioning starts agian. Zemo's plan was indeed masterful: he even made them think he planned to use the other Winter Soldiers as a means of luring the Avengers to Siberia, then when they got there he disposed of them.
Zemo might not be morally correct but he's a very understandable character. He actually reminds me quite a bit of Karli from TFATWS. I can understand why he's doing what he's doing but he's going about it the wrong way.
He's way better than Karli because he has a rock solod ethical code. Karli wanted to help people, but then the power of the super soldier serum corrupted her and turned her into the very thing she had wanted to destroy (like Anakin in Star Wars) Zemo is more comparable to Steven Rogers, but who was faced with different circumstances.
Zemo was the reason the Avengers were fighting against each other in the first place and got separated and Tony Stark and Spider-Man and Dr. Strange were fighting Thanos with The Guardians in outer space. While Captain America, Black Panther and the other Avengers were fighting aliens in Wakanda on Earth. Then the multiverse came since they open a portal to the previous Spider-Man movies and Dr. Strange dealing with Wanda in the multiverse and Loki messing up the timeline and got arrested by the TVA.
I think Civil War as part of Avengers sequence as there were alot of characters in this movie. It wasn't limited to captain America alone. So in way we can call it Avengers third installation.

In the end Thanos won because Strange gave up the Time Stone to save Tony, and Thanos used the TS to bring back Vision and get the Mind stone.

But Zemo is a traditional Cap villain, so his story is mainly centered around Cap, super soldiers and the serum, and in that regard he is still out for blood.

Like he's dancing in the club, cracking jokes, etc. The dude was a total badass in civil war and destroyed the avengers with a well laid out plan. The best I've seen in a movie really. I hate to admit I love every single marvel property and their storyline and I'm sure this will work but I want my old calculating zemo who laughs at prison guards from his cell when they doubt whether his plan worked.
Because of Zemo who killed King TChaka and made the Avengers fight each other. He wanted vengeance and revenge for what they done. Thanos arrived and was looking for the stones and snap his fingers and half of life in the universe became 50 percent of all living creatures
Zemo is not a villain - its kinda a grey area here - hes on the raft now - and who knows when the baddest ass underwater prison is going to be visited by other (by not their choice) - Zemo is going to head of the Shockers - And Red Hulk is in charge of the RAFT - all he needs is permission from Wakanda to take Zemo and use him as a mercenary - Falcon and Winter Solidier builds this up - at some point all hope is lost and Zemo is released to make up for killing king wakana koopa, and Electra could be the one to talk to Wakanda when REd Hulk (Sec Ross) fails at negotiations - he does talk to other nations and he could get a temp pardon for Zemo in the time to come. Zemo is my favorite character and they are setting him up for this - think about his anti Nazi and wealth of knowledge regarding black culture (especially when the called the guy a pimp that looked like falcon and he said only an american would thing this person is dressed like a pimp) - That said it all. Wakanda is going to forgive Zemo eventually but for now he sits in the raft - but the next time you see a major mcu person (friend or foe) be sent to the rage - boom there is Zemo again --- He is in storage like bucky was - and he scored brownie points with the new captain america - You are going to see a lot of Zemo in 2020's and I'm glad as he is my fav marvel person overall - end of rant..

@@AlexJones-ue1ll that's a good point. I just don't like how they are trivializing him. Like he's dancing in the club, cracking jokes, etc. The dude was a total badass in civil war and destroyed the avengers with a well laid out plan. The best I've seen in a movie really. Now he's a buddy cop with bucky and sam. Just seems off and not the same character. I hate to admit I love every single marvel property and their storyline and I'm sure this will work but I want my old calculating zemo who laughs at prison guards from his cell when they doubt whether his plan worked.
Because of Zemo who killed King TChaka and made the Avengers fight each other. He wanted vengeance and revenge for what they done. Thanos arrived and was looking for the stones and snap his fingers and half of life in the universe became 50 percent of all living creatures

Zemo is not a villain - its kinda a grey area here - hes on the raft now - and who knows when the baddest ass underwater prison is going to be visited by other (by not their choice) - Zemo is going to head of the Shockers - And Red Hulk is in charge of the RAFT - all he needs is permission from Wakanda to take Zemo and use him as a mercenary - Falcon and Winter Solidier builds this up - at some point all hope is lost and Zemo is released to make up for killing king wakana koopa, and Electra could be the one to talk to Wakanda when REd Hulk (Sec Ross) fails at negotiations - he does talk to other nations and he could get a temp pardon for Zemo in the time to come. Zemo is my favorite character and they are setting him up for this - think about his anti Nazi and wealth of knowledge regarding black culture (especially when the called the guy a pimp that looked like falcon and he said only an american would thing this person is dressed like a pimp) - That said it all. Wakanda is going to forgive Zemo eventually but for now he sits in the raft - but the next time you see a major mcu person (friend or foe) be sent to the rage - boom there is Zemo again --- He is in storage like bucky was - and he scored brownie points with the new captain america - You are going to see a lot of Zemo in 2020's and I'm glad as he is my fav marvel person overall - end of rant..
