No biscuits tin! Although as you know I have a wife who likes to keep one full at home! 😂 I feel as if I have too! Was lovely to see you Thursday! Will pop back in soon!
Holy cow, that is a lot of things to do for washing up the milking parlor. Parlor seems a bit outdated compared to milking parlors here in the states. You seem to be enjoying this new job. Keep the vids coming, enjoy watching. 👍
Loving the content Josh as it reminds me of my first job on a dairy farm. It had a very similar set up to yours and we milked 300+ 3 times a day. I had to do the odd night milk (9pm start) which was my favourite time to milk. The cows were always so quiet and chilled out.
Nice one Josh you're settling in well and look happy their which is nice to see Theirs so much to remember getting the milking parlour ready I'd surly forget something Make sure you have the camera recording in the parlour when you hit you're head 😂😂when I'm watching you duck you're head so much im thinking theirs going to be one time you don't and hitting one of those beams would not be nice we don't want you getting concussion Really enjoyed the video as always looking forward to the next one
great video Josh......you look as if you are really enjoying you new job combined with your new enterprise......obviously i am hoping you are really successful and therefore l look forward to watching your progress on all your channels!!!!
Thanks Keith! I’m loving it! It helps a lot knowing the farm a little bit and also being friends with Rob! Much like at north Wyke there is plenty of banter along with the work!
its really good seeing you enjoying what you are doing its all about doing things in life you enjoy thanks for sharing your new adventure take care and stay safe 😀
Loved the video Josh and seeing the dribble bar and spreader cups in action which really do give great coverage. Amazing how quickly you can milk 341 cows, and here is me back in the day thinking, 3 hours for 150 with a byre pipeline system was good. 😂. Thanks
Great video Josh. Just a little suggestion you should get a protective cap for while working in the milk parler. Because as a tall person myself that day you hit you hit your head you'll regret not having a protective cap!😊
I reckon this year would be the year to get a decent hay crop after silage. Save some money and get it mown your self, turn it, put 3 swaths into 1 with the haybob and get your man to bale it. Oh and have the county hauling bales 👌😁
Hi Ant, do you mean how long before the field is spread again or how long between loads? The field might get spread again in a month or after grazing again. It was about 15 minute round trips
Coming from the Netherlands where injecting slurry into the ground is the norm/law i wondered if those little splashy plates don't defy the purpose of the dribble bar. If i hear Tom P or Adrian talk about the slurry laying less on the grass and more on the ground being a plus of a dribble bar. But as said before, this system isn't used here in the Netherlands. Otherwise nice video hope you enjoy the new job.
Yes I understand what you mean, it’s covering the leaf more. I’ve seen some dribble bar applications that don’t disappear as the line is so thick, this should avoid that. But it does cover the leaf. I wonder if the rules you guys have will ever make it over here?
@@JMFarming sounds logical as cow slurry is thicker than pig slurry for instance. For you i hope the dutch regulation won't make it there. Although injecting isn't that much of a hassle or problem. And as we have horsefarm and horsemuck is wanted for the mushroom barns, so 100% of our muck gets hauled away, which means we can haul in cow or pig slurry, and get paid to do so. But rules and regulations are strange to say the least. There is too much (or so the say) slurry in the Netherlands. But when you reach the amount of nutrients from animal slurry, you have to pay to get rid of it, but you are still allowed to use artificial fertilizer. And every farmer will say slurry is better for the worms than fertilizers. Maybe it's a bit of a difficult story if you don't have to work with it (and it is when you do work with this system😅). But as we are injecting here since the mid 90s, by the time you are going to retire these things might be in the uk 😉
The dump pedal is that similar to American Trucks " J brakes" that use the exhaust system as a brake . Is it noiser when using it ? How long do you have to travel to get to work ?
After watching you since you started you tube channel. And seen the first two episodes of your new job. I still thinnk it's the wrong move you are so more capable of doing better & bigger thinngs. Than just milking cows .with the son still at home your never going to better your self Just a farm worker.. I don't thinnk you realised what a good job your old one was. Your more or less had a free hand in what you did And get to work with good equipment Perhaps in 6 months time your begin to thinnk it was. Coming home smelling of cows and dirty. I have been there and done it having been brought up on a Dairy farm . I wouldn't go back to it . Even though I did a few weekends milking last summer .soon realised why I left it 20 years ago .your farm manger material.. josh .
I appreciate your comments, but I’m definitely in the right place. Job satisfaction is huge to me and I get it in abundance here. Also I have a love for dairy farming over and above everything else, the tractor seat everyday just wasn’t for me anymore! No such thing as “just milking cows” anymore, loads more to it! 👌🏼
@JMFarming perhaps one day josh you and Abbie might get your own Dairy farm .now you have your own cattle perhaps put in for county council farm . A lot of farmers start on them.
I'm not a fan of this new work place, Miss north wick, And all the lads there better crack that made a far better video im going to have to subscribe unfortunately.
Like the Farm Office Josh, but i couldn’t see the biscuit tin?!? 😂 You look like you have settled in very happily. Miss you at North Wyke 😢

It’s actually a relatively new parlour, it’s just a very basic one. No thrills but also nothing to go wrong! Loving the new job! Thanks!
Well done Josh, great to see all the different things
Thanks Toni! 🐄🙌🏼
Great video 😊😊

Urm, Gus needs a haircut! And does the bog have a door? 😂 so glad you're happy with your new job! X
He does! Abi said that the other night! Yes there is a door! 😂 Thanks Steph!

Thanks Fraser! It’s all about cow flow! They are rarely held up after milking, they go straight back to grass which helps!
Thought something looked familiar in your video we are the old owners of that mccormick x7.680 I used to be main driver of it
Oh wow! What did you replace it with? It seems to have plenty of power! Comfy enough place to spend the day!
Ahhh good it was a good tractor for us and we replaced it with an x7.624
Cracking video. Another busy day
Thanks Paddy!
Hey, could you maybe do a video where you do a tour of the farm and maybe some info about the farm? But really like the vids about the new workplace.
Good idea 👍🏻
I’ll try and do that at some point!
Love the tanking videos hope their is plenty more to come
There will be indeed!

A bit of hay for some young cattle is just the job! Just need a roof to put it under! I’m hoping we can make that happen with that little field!
🤔 dunno why I seem to have posted my comment on JM farming… I was watching back my place 🫣🤦♂️😆
@@casto- that’s some dark arts kinda stuff! 😅

Classic Tom pemberton trick there bit of rag over the pipe to create a better vacuum
😂😅 it’s not quite the correct fitting on the pipe! 🤦🏼♂️ but yes! Works a treat!
I feel like I’ve driven past that farm before guessing it’s a bit closer to where you live as well
It’s only 7/8 minutes from home 👍🏼

Excellent vid 👌
Do they stir the slurry?
How u getting on with the mccormick compared to jd?
Thanks Antony! No didn’t stir it this time. Yeah it’s a nice machine! Plenty of poke!
How long between spreads. Or does it depend on how fast you go.
Hi Ant, do you mean how long before the field is spread again or how long between loads? The field might get spread again in a month or after grazing again. It was about 15 minute round trips

I absolutely am Stephen! Couldn’t have said it better myself!
Do you still have your John deere
That was North Wykes, I’m not working there anymore.
Do they mix up slurry like soup
Occasionally yes. The pit will be cleaned right out this year to get all the sand out!
