Hi, I have got an international health insurance which was approved by the german government's list of valid health insurances from my country. What way should I find my social security number?
Do you know how long it takes to get a social security number assigned to you? I signed up for public health insurance when I started my new job, but it's been two weeks and my employer is saying they can't pay me until I give them my social security number.
Hi Alex, sorry for taking so long to respond. I hope you got this sorted in the meantime. Just in case it's still of help: Did you complete your city registration yet? If not, this could be preventing the issuing of your social security id.
@@HalloGermany No worries, I appreciate you reaching out to help me. I did complete the city registration, it just took a long time for the form to be mailed to me. In the meantime I was able to get the number directly from my health insurance company. It was just a bit scary knowing that I needed this number to get paid, but not knowing when it would show up. But everything is resolved now, and I'm enjoying life in Germany.
@@alex_blue5802 Thanks for sharing. Yeah I can imagine that that's quite scary. I'm glad to hear that you got it sorted.. maybe this also be helpful for others here.
