Varane wanted to take a big pay cut but they didn't want to offer him a new contract. I will be pissed of if they give McGuire next season a new contract and they didn't do that with Varane on reduce wages.
Varane is too injury prone to stay in the team, but I agree that Maguire should have been gone last season. Manchester United are simply too slow in removing deadwood, and that's why it would be delusional to expect greatness from this club any time soon.

Luke Shaw had a horrible injury way back then, a career ending injury but he is still on our books and none of us complain about how he is injury prone but look how loud we are when its Varane. It'll be nice to see the final end of McFred, if they can get McTominay out of the door, but we really do need to be seeing the end of Magaluf. As you say, let's hope we get De Ligt in, to make Maguire and Lindelof finally see the light of playing elsewhere.

Although you say bloated squad, only a few are good enough to play for utd. We are stuck with many players that are not good enough and on astronomical wages which means their value is way less on the transfer market. Resulting on being stuck with them until contracts are finished. Thank the glazers of years of abuse on the footballing side! We can sign them because they already put a bid in, it was rejected but you don't put a bid in if you can't sign them. The bid going in means we are confident that McTominay, AWB and Lindelof are going and that the deals are very close to being finalised.

Honestly mark do you not wonder why these players are hesitant to move on? They are all being paid more than any club will offer them. They will be happy to run down their contracts knowing they won't get them wages anywhere else. They will milk the terrible wage structure the higher ups put in place.

PSG just did a number on ineos as they thought letting PSG have a free run on Neves will lower the fees of ugarte and PSG doesn't care and stick to their gun. I said before,united should have gone for Neves as they are same price as ugartee is a generational talent and have a resale value. You would really see what ineos is doing but not making a move for neves just make you doubt ineos intention now.
Neves was bought for £60m plus players so not exactly the same price as ugarte at £52m. Utd were quoted €100m which why we ran away from that!

...you can agree as many personal terms and contracts as you want but if the player is under contract with another club and that other club want X and United are only prepared to offer Y obviously its stalemate. Same old story it´s United so the clubs who own those players will hold out until they get what they want...
I think its high salary that is stopping the deals, casimero still being at the club means the wage bill will be too high with the 3 players coming in
We’ll probably need to walk away from one of these deals unfortunately. Guessing it’ll be Ugarte since PSG asking too much and Amrabat there for a cut price as an alternative.

We need all of them as we are playing on 4 fronts, Europa league, Premiere league, FA cup, Catabao. We need squad depth to rotate players so they dont get tired or to deal better with injuries.
