As one of the devs, we are listening to all the feedback and are working hard to fix the crashes and QoL stuff. Thank you again Jade for covering the game!
I think it's ridiculous to review a game this early. I already got my $30 worth last night with like the 3 hours I got to play. The artwork is absolutely beautiful and the concept is unique. The devs are already planning on the much needed quality of life tweaks and I hope that comes with balancing. I'm very interested in seeing if the seemingly complicated nature of the game's premise is able to stay balanced in terms of difficulty and grinding as things progress. I can't wait to find more time to play and just explore.
Wdym review a game this early? If you put it out there for all to see people will judge it. And they're charging for it, too. I'm not a charity. And neither are other consumers.
Doesnt mean you go out of your way to leave negatiove review over soem really basic stuff that got corrected within hours. ton of reviews were left with not even an hour of gameplay and more complaining about not having character customosation? these thinsg are all pretty crap reasons to ear mark a game as negative
@@JadePGCI'm vehemently against this whole fixing in post kinda attitude. You either deliver a finished bug-free product or you don't bother. Early access nowadays just means you're not allowed to criticise anything while still charging for it. I say no.
I agree with Jade and I absolutely fell in love with Towers of Aghasba after eight hours of playing. I just enjoy these kinds of relaxing games, and now I love spending every free moment immersed in the world of Aghasba and its captivating atmosphere. That’s why I’d be very happy if the game continues to be developed diligently as promised.
Cross-Progression in Grounded is done through shared worlds why didn’t they incorporate the same feature. I think this should be something they consider in the future. I’m enjoying the game very much though I just wish my Wife and I could share the progress and not go back and forth between worlds. I give it a 7/10 right now but it will go well beyond that rating with future updates.
That cross progression is a unique feature that only came to grounded after being in early access 18 months. Only fallout 76 have done something similar and they charge you subscription for it
Bravo Jade, thank you for bringing balance, and calling out negativity. Ark deserves nearly 10yrs of backlash, but a new title, particularly an indie dev needs all the support of a new community. If you find a fault, report it, don't go to the town square and flame the devs. Excited to try this game out for the first time tonight, and keep an open mind for the coming months/years :)
Will be grabbing ToA around the weekend. One thing that struck me about the reviews was how many centred around features discussed in the early access road map.
I disagree, we all look at reviews and are pre-disposed to take into account what they convey, I think a lot of people check reviews on most items they purchase, it just makes sense to do so. I was excited for Towers of Aghasba, but after seeing the reviews I have decided to wait a while and see what updates the Devs plan before committing. And before we get the usual 'sheep' comments, I made my decision based on the co-op, it doesn't suit the play I and my sister had in mind. People can read Steam reviews and make their decision based on what they want in a game, or they can listen to streamers (ironically they don't consider themselves sheep if they follow a favourite streamer's advice) and base their decision on this if they choose. In the end, it's my money I am using to purchase a game, I should be able to make my purchase decisions based on what information I find pertinent to what I want from a game.
No ones a sheep but there is hive mind mind mentality on steam, as said can be overly harsh, pc players are for sure more harsh. Multiplayer might no be what you wnat and that's about good enough reason, I just question why people don't look at what devs are saying on store page and dev vlogs etc, as it's never been promoted as dedicated servers or a complete co-op experience, people keep saying like enshrouded but it's totally a different game. And as said alot of negative reviews are for really bs reasons or not understanding it's early access, ea games deserve some leeway.
There so many directions they can go with what they have. For multiplayer, Hum, let’s simply add for now, missions that requires u to absolutely go to another player world, then make us appear right beside the player (or spawn in sky above him) so we can play and trade right away, maybe they made me teleport to the player already in battle, let me help him right away. Maybe, before we teleport, we can see Notes from Open Players Worlds, left by them, showcasing what they are looking for, ex : need help with this mission, need this object, need companion for adventure, need some help with decoration, etc. Then, add some ressources ONLY available in another players world. Boom, incentive to visit right there. 😊
I love crafting/building/survival games and have played them all. Played this last night on the PS5. It has performance and quality modes and runs pretty good. This game looks awesome and the soundtrack and audio is amazing. Even though it’s in early access it’s still more finished and less buggy than many AAA games. Yep there are some issues, however it does what video games are meant to do; help you stop thinking about the real world for a while and relax and unwind. This game has huge potential and I can’t wait to see what comes next. Well done the developers and keep up the good work. In its current state I would score it a 7.5 but this score would inevitably increase. If you like these types of games you will enjoy this.
This is just how it goes now. Hopefully the Devs tough it out and keep the faith. I only played about 3 hours today (damn job got in the way😅) but I'm pretty into it so far and looking forward to what's to come. Really appreciating your content on this game so far... keep it coming mate! 👍
Its absolutely doesn’t deserve the review bombing its disgusting behaviour, its early access, they’ve been really responsive, I lost 10 hours of play and was frustrated but it is early access so its to be expected, I’m love the game it’s beautiful, very fun and addicted, love the OST, you can tell how much love has been put into it, can’t wait to see what’s next!
This is what people do when new games come out. Anything that's new people are the most critical... That's why many game studios do not want to make new IP.... Play Rather Make a reboot or a remake or a new game of a well-known franchise. People look for anything to go on to trash a game.. when you the player actually play the game for yourself is nothing like they say it is... Or there is something but it's over exaggerated...
Very very fair review! We appreciate this feedback immensely, and when it's coming from a place of actually caring, it has extra impact on our team! Thank you!
So far for the game being reviewed early the game was actually a full of fun. I’m enjoying the graphics and what they have planned with this form of genre.
Im starting to enjoy it but it has way too many issues. Should not have been released yet. Terrible control mapping. Coop isnt coop, cant access quests with guest in lobby. Tools should use automatically rather than having to use the wheel every 5 seconds. No inventory space. The game was promised as so much more. I guess thats typical these days. Could tell from trailer that it wasnt ready. Hoping they work to change alot of the mechanics. Obviously not players who made this game.
I always appreciate your honesty & The way you tell it how it is. Also when I do look at new games I'm not sure about i try to look out for your reviews about the game as I always take on board what you say about the Game. Thank you 😊
impossible to play with an azerty keyboard and impossible to bind the keys the way you want, even in EA in 2024 seriously... Such a basic function...but I support devs so I'll wait!
I really thought it would have more survival elements, specially building, but that's on me for not instruct myself better about what the game really is, just got advertised about being a survival game and my mind thought "amazing, enshrouded with a very beautiful esthetic.", but that's not the case.
A review the day after is release insane. I had my eye on this game but wouldn't buy until i see how it is and its unfortunately not for me with a lack of building.
I totally agree with u because at first i was sketchy cuz of the reviews but now that ive bought it and played it. This game has potential. So im glad i didnt listen to the reviews or refunded it. And i hope the devs listen to the community and do some QoL changes to the game. Some things are tedious but u can still enjoy the game and i dont mind the co-op aspect, it was well explained frm your end. Hope they can do minor changes to it.
Love the look of this, its going to be my first early access title on ps5, given the speed with which things have already been done gives me faith in developers, is it true that you cant move the buildings once theyre put down?
Remember, this is early access. It's definitely going to be glitchy at first. But unfortunately for Dreamlit, no one rates a game based on "potential". Hopefully they take a lesson from Hello Games (No Mans Sky) and do right by the players. And it sounds to me like that's the goal. We'll see.
My girlfriend and me have been playing I now have an hour into it and I don't see a problem with the game at least towards game play it's an 8/10 for me sold game play building feels good combat is simple but rewarding and just a good early access game we shouldn't hate on games for them trying something new
The game is still early access. I am happy to try this and escape from real life for a while. I hope it doesn't have unwanted messages or becomes agenda driven. I am getting tired of games that have real life politics and idiology. I looked into who made this game and those involved. That leaves me wondering. I am willing to give credit where credit is due. We will see. Thanks for the review
yawn, not another gamer way to concernd with absolutle nothing? its a eco message game? course it has a message, all games have politics they just were never questioned as much by hate bait grifters on youtube and social media as they couldnt make money sowing division before. games with idealogy give me a break
@JadePGC no, i just like a good game. I am tired of any politics in games. It's been going on for a long time. I just want to hide and have fun. Not be reminded of the outside world when I go in. Thats not a crime. I just want to play a game without it. Some of my favorites have been baptized in this shit. Its not needed.
information about epic account to needed for play this was so misleading some people avoid game because of it. Well epic games has mess with players on past and have cause bad reputation themself.
true it was an issue but as shown and said, alot fo games use epics onlien services because its cheaper and easy to implement multiplayer rather then make it all your self
Game just came out & going by the comments here it's got fanboys already shielding the game from legit criticism. Toxic positivity is ruining everything from living up to it's potential due to fanboys with ZERO standards.
fanboyism is when you cant se any critism? i aknowledged and gave my own? so ya comment is just deflecting, and why shouldnat game been hyped for 5 years have fans? not everyone is a negative lil bitch loool
Thank you for this video, Most people just brain fart what EA really means. And shit all over SMALL development games that need us to help fix and grow the game. I am with you, I think PC folks have sort of spoiled review making mountains out of mole hills. The game definitely needs a little more time in the oven but the bones of the game are really good. I am really enjoying it. I have clipped into the environment a few time and had to use the unstuck command but nothing has been out right bad. I was really excited for this game but I wasnt really sure what to expect. After playing I have been pleasantly surprised and look forward to picking it back up after work today. Great job devs
One Big issue is that the Gaming community in todays times most of them dont understand what Early Access means. The People playing the Game are most likely the ones Testing the Game in that Stage. Sadly instead of reporting an issue to the Devs they go and put Hate posts out. Just because its not right away there cup of tea. And that is not fair at all against this Game. I realy like the Game.
