    I have owned this bass for over a year and a half. I play it as much as my Pbass. I play it way more than my 73' Rickenbacker. I love this thing. I always run it wide open both pickups! ALSO. I installed American made Hipshots with the Drop D tuner. This thing is Amazing drop D!!

    I finally received my 2021 Non Reverse Thunderbird in Faded Pelham Blue last October 2022 after waiting a year for it to arrive, .. I had to do a little tweaking on the bridge height when I received it, I was able to get the bridge height to where I live it ( 6/64" on the bass side & 5/64" on the treble side , . the neck is a but thicker than my 2015 Gibson Thunderbird, but it's not a big dea as it still feels & and sounds good. Other than that, there were no flaws in the finish or workmanship when I opened the case & took it out for the first time. It's such a cool looking bass that will retain its value, I agree in regard to some of the review videos on this bass on some You Tube channels they were a little harsh & unfair on this bass in my opinion , I love mine I am still considering whether to swap the bridge out for a Hipshot or Babicz bridge or keep it stock,
    It's a lot of bang for the buck when you consider the case & case candy that cones with this bass ( as you said) anyway. Thanks as always, Chris .

    This is my standard gig bass; you told: > You get the definition of the Jazz Bass but with a Big Bass like the Precision, and also you get the Looks, and like a good TB you smash the headstock with all things (microphones, drummer staff...even the lights avobe your head xD)

    This bass needs a funky colored pickguard! It does sound really good. It has a p like punch but jbass at the same time as you said in the video. Cool bass! Nonaffiliated but there seems to be a brand new one on reverb for $1700 in utah. They look like theyre going for 2199-2399 otherwise. I hate inflation in the bass market....

    The bass sounds really great and the body style really isn't that bad the more I look at it. But they are over priced like all Gibsons. I definitely wouldn't pay more than $1,000 for it to have it in my collection. Verygood video though.🙂🤘

    I briefly had this bass last year I loved the sound but I could not get on with neck reach. I loved the sound so much I got a Brubaker JXB made with ulyate TB pickups much more comfortable to play.

      It took me about a year to get used to it. It made me play different parts when writing parts. I am short and would not pick this bass to play really fast fills on the first 4 frets.

    To get the phase cancelled frequencies back on Jazz you just roll one volume back a touch. Refer to JPJ LZ 1&2. Easy peasy.

    Im always going to prefer the regular (reverse) thunderbird over this one. These pickups sound way better, but purely on visuals and nut width, I much prefer the reverse thunderbirds. Electronics are easy to swap.

    How are the volume pots on yours? This is my first Gibson bass, and it seems the volume knobs for each pickup aren't very linear. Both are quiet until you reach about 8, and then the volume for the pickup scales dramatically. Is that normal for Gibson basses? :)

  • @maxchenhg5469
    @maxchenhg5469 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well, The thing that I dont get is that everyone says Gibson basses are way to expensive. But fender’ s American product line is also around 2000 euros. Considering Gibson's paint craftsmanship, and the Thunderbird is a-neck through bass(not the nonreverse one ). So compared to others, is Gibson really expensive? Does it really not have good value for money?

    • @yakeeb3742
      @yakeeb3742 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gibsons are ABSOLUTELY overpriced. While they’re certainly very nice instruments, the competition simply removes any justification of it. As for Fender, they too are overpriced, but they have a reputation for being a bit more consistent QC-wise and for going outside the norm more often. But no matter which you choose, you could be getting a comparable/superior instrument for half-price or less from countless other brands (i.e. Schecter, Sire, ESP, Michael Kelly, and Tagima to name a few)

    • @maxchenhg5469
      @maxchenhg5469 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yakeeb3742 That’s ture , the overpirce it is a problème.Then personally, I think that the price should still consider the factors of origin, and I do not believe that origin completely represents higher quality. But the fact is that some origins are more expensive, and this does not correspond to quality and cost-effectiveness. That’s the world we live on, anyway my point is If you are looking for value for money, you can buy very good instruments at a very low price, but you cannot criticize Gibson while praising Fender US for being a great value at the same time(That is something I see a lot) . Fender QC is not a dream sawell (Gibson is slightly worse).

    • @lanceforney5321
      @lanceforney5321 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The first thing I did was buy a wide leather strap. This bass feels light. It does have a little neck dive. I personally feel the neck dive is only because of the horn being over the 17th fret instead of the 12th like a P-Bass. That is what makes it tough to play at first.
