There is no such thing as "reverse" racism, it's just racism
Of course it's all racism but it's just a way to specify a certain type of racism, like reverse psychology.

It took me a long time to understand that not everybody gets the privilege of growing up with such a diverse community, and unfortunately I think that can be where some racism stems from because people haven’t taken the time to get to know people from all walks of life, so instead of being open to people who are different in some small way to themselves, they would rather live in ignorance. But even though I grew up with such diversity, it still took me a long time to understand what my peers were experiencing when it came to racism because I just didn’t see it firsthand until much later in my life. Of course we should always strive to understand one another and of course we should respect each other’s uniqueness, heritage, nationalities and ethnicities. @@crate249 Halloween is a day to dress up. As characters and other people. It’s often a mockery. Why would you not be offended by that? Is your culture a costume that people laugh at?
@@crate249 It’s your choice to just let it pass and not say anything, and that’s okay. I’m not Japanese but I’m no ‘teenage white girl getting offended for minorities’ either.
There’s a difference between sharing the culture and using it as a costume and further not knowing anything about it.
What I’m trying to say is that addressing it is fine too. People might learn from it. :)
@@crate249 So if a person was muslim and they got offended that someone dressed up with clothing from their culture and they were offended, how would you respond?
@@crate249 I disagree. I am not Japanese, but I am an African/Jamaican American (mixed). In the Nigerian culture, we see a lot of cultural dresses, with tons of patterns and many different colors. Imagine, a white child (this is an example), who by the way is not at all African, dresses up in one of them for fun, how am I going to feel? These patterns have different symbolic messages, and so many years of oppression and work, and represents my culture, and she is wearing it. Like, if she thinks it’s cute, you know, that’s okay, like I’m happy she likes it, but when she steps out of her place, dressing up in a COSTUME, when this is something so culturally important to me and my family, think about how that makes me feel? You might be comfortable with different people wearing geishas, but I don’t think it is considered sharing the culture. Sharing the culture, you know, for example food. We have all eaten food from another ethnicity if that makes sense, but sharing culture apparently now includes clothing? Even if the girl knew the background of these symbolic dresses in my culture, you think that’s supposed to make me feel better? She knows it’s history, yet still decided to wear it for Halloween. And I’m not just speaking about Halloween, in fact, this should be taken in general. We see white people wearing head scarfs/hats of other cultures. How can somebody be okay with cultural appropriation. I know you are entitled to your own opinion, but look at it from another Japanese person’s perspective. If you go on google right now, and search up African Dress, the first thing that pops up is SHEIN, with a white person wearing what is supposedly, an African dress. Now, this isn’t even close to sharing culture. That is somebody remaking it, and naming it “SHEIN Tribal & Striped Print Coat & Pants Set”. Like, I understand where you’re coming from, you see people wearing geishas, and look at it like, they like the clothing, so it’s not a big deal if they want to wear it. Well, pretty much, just be more considerate, because you may think it is not a big deal, but always try to see it from another perspective. Cultural appropriation is real, and I feel like more people need to see it.

I bet that this dude couldn't even name at least 5 locations in Ireland if questioned on the spot.
He's such a loser clown made me cringe hard literally isso brainwashed by white guilt it's pathetic

i mean i think all these videos specifically are about different demographics within america as they’re an american youtube channel that covers american social issues.

I feel like people from Europe might answer these questions very differently, regardless of their phenotype. All of these people seem very American.
Well people from Europe wouldn’t understand race relations and it’s intricacies in America..
That's because America's foundation is immigration. Every single person in America with the exception of native Americans, are NOT originally from America. Europeans, I feel, would be more territorial towards foreigners bc their blood line is not from across the ocean. More than likely it's local!!!
Especially because they know where they are from. Americans seem to think that every European country and people group is the same.
Marso 13 so? You could argue that everyone is Ethiopian just because the human race originated there. The reason we refer to them as native Americans is because the lived there for much longer than everyone else. White Americans can be called Europeans because their culture is still similar to them. However, the Native Americans do not resemble their Asian ancestors and have developed a culture of their own.
Edit: Native Americans have developed many cultures, not just one
Marso 13 No, you must’ve only read the first part of my reply. Natives aren’t immigrants because unlike the Europeans White Americans resemble, the Natives have very little in common with their Asian counterparts. You might see a White American go to Europe for a heritage trip, but Natives never do this in Asia.
Socially conditioned to hate themselves for something they had zero control over
Really annoying seeing that they use “race” and “ethnicity” as if they’re the same thing
Legit Communism get a life. Everyone is the same. I'm white and I see black people equal. No matter what. One race is equal to another.
@@alybaby9144 Race is the colour 0f your skin + features (white, black, brown, asian, indigenous are the common terms- but this gets hard to identify with mixed race people). Ethnicity is your ancestry/blood. Someone can be white race, but be ethnically Dutch. Or Asian race but ethnically Thai.
burpie explained it perfectly. Also the first guy, chill out dawg I didn’t say you should judge people by their ethnicity or race, I was just saying that to better understand the conversation I think people should first understand the terms they use
This white vs. black binary is frustrating and tired.....
Its frustrating that they keep acting like black people are victims that have to have white people stand up for them. We are all free now.
Sometimes it’s really hard to know what’s the right thing to do. I want everyone to be treated the same. Does that mean I do/say nothing or does that mean that I help people who are treaded differently to be treated better. It’s a very difficult topic and pretty much everything you say or do can be seen as wrong or inappropriate
Now can you do this with Europeans PLEASE these Americans are something else
Ik I'm american and am sooo embarrassed by this. I disagree with all of them tbh.
The fact that this is likely the future of my race is absolutely disgusting. Gen Z is gonna need to turn the world inside out to erase this idiocy.
These are awesome! This is EXACTLY what we need societally! Someone needs to open up the conversations that are uncomfortable so that we can talk about them & appeal to one another's consciousness. Great job! 🩷
pirate isn’t a race so i don’t see why it’s bad to dress like one
Neither is black. There is the human race, and maybe humans are from different countries. But they're all the same human race.
@justsomename _________ I did not say that.. At all. I wasn't even talking about culture. Just saying that a skin tone does not define your race.
@@justsomename-ct1mb exactly nothing, that's my point. It's just a skin color, a physical feature. It does not define a single thing about a person.
I wish this video was called "Do all white people FROM THE US think the same?"
Edit: Just to be clear, I didn't mean that there's no racism outside of the US. Of course white people are still privileged, but this video is extremely US-centric

@Nathan Magnus And yet you open an American History Text book and you read how great White people and how they built this country. Made up history by the victors. The Pilgrims were good people.
