The whole competition brought down to a gimmick mini game. Degrading farce for these top level professional players.

It really is a poor way to decide a match and tournament. They need to change the format.
All you have to do is listen to the commentary on these games, pool at this level is a game of skill, planning and tactical exchanges. And to decide who is the best, it's reduced to simply who can pot balls the fastest and run around a table like a fanny. It's completely insulting to the talent of these professionals players.
It's fun for lesser matches, but for championship, it is crazy

Make it best of 3 sets. Best of two makes no sense whatsoever, unless you count aggregate frames.

best of 2 sets has a 50% chance of going to a 6 red with equal players. a bit high really. it's like the World Cup with 50% pen shootouts in the knockout stages
Same as tennis. Win 2 sets 6-0, lose 3 sets on a tie break.
If you're not going to play the circus music it deserve at the end, ya might as well play the Benny Hill theme instead.

As luck can play crucial roles in pool, best of 3 is definitely a fairer outcome for the players and juicier for us spectators, especially when watching players of such high quality.

That finger twitching is soo annoying.
Comes from snooker and they do it fewer times/take less time to shoot as well, not sure why pool players do it. Doesn't do much, maybe calm the player. But, I see more of an issue as why they buy such expensive chalk and feel the need to chalk every hit when they had a straight in line up. Wasting time, I guess.....*chalk, re-look at the shot, jerk off the cue, chalk again to make yourself feel better about the next shot and miss*
