Having just finished rewatch this anime yesterday, it was incredible and so beautifully done. This song honestly deserved to be the second ending, but I can understand why it’s not since it was specifically written for Tsubaki about Kousei 😢💔
I felt so bad for Tsubaki. She loved Kousei for so long and was with Kousei more than Kaori. Tsubaki knew more about Kousei than Kaori did. But in the end, he went with Kaori because, unlike Tsubaki, Kaori could touch his heart.

Even she was about to die won’t change her bad way at all
Kaori had her own morals and rules she made to follow,if she thinks as a 14 year old that leaving Kousei as her lover would be bad. And within the letter she wrote for Kousei,the letter that she wrote saying "I love you" knowing and hoping that she would reach him then there's no regret for her. And she didn't just showed up out of nowhere Kousei didnt know her but she knew him at the age of 5.She was literally the first character we saw at the start of the first episode Atleast she considered tasubaki's feelings and lied just to be close with Kousei in her final days. If you were in your final days wouldn't you want to do what your heart's contents? It is wrong for a 14 year-old girl to do what she wants and spend the time with who she wants? No regrets...she played with Kousei,spent her time making unforgettable memories with him and not to mess the friendship between Kousei,Ryouko and tasubaki she hid her illness,hid her feelings and didn't confess to someone who she love because she cant be with him as much as she tried She also help Kousei overcome his depression of his Mom, him not wanting to play the piano and him not being able to hear the notes hes playing He played with imagining she was with him as he watched her back It was because of her Kousei moved on and kept walking for another tomorrow Whats there to hate about it when everything is already answerd Theres also the classic anime trope that the childhood friend never wins the main-charactor Unless its a harem

@@bipolarbroccoli i rarely hear about it im the anime world It has the tragedy element that most anime miss Mosy anime have tragedy that gets solved and its mostly a happy ending And when it isnt a happy ending it is usually something overly dramtic Shigatsu wa kimi tackles the problem in a very realistic manner Raw emotions and all Definetly underrated imo, I might be wrong tho

Iam team tsubaki and will always do tho for sure they end up together since koari die , reason simply cause tsubaki was in his side all his life she even took care of him cause he was fragile little boy she was always there for him until they grow up and I mean they were only 14 ofc she didn’t realize she was in love until later but kaori way to come middling between those 3 I see it lost dirtiest way she become his best friend girlfriend just to middle into 3 also start taking him away from tsubaki and feel jealous I mean her ways I never like it from start even if she was about to die won’t change thing ,tsubaki was willing stay by his side and probably even without kaori she was probably realize her feeling cause of her Friend mentioned that to her too that she don’t really see him as little brother anymore tsubaki did stand by his side in his worst time no matter what kaori should been take normal way to get close not be his best friends girlfriend so yeh all the way childhood girl tsubaki the best
Sorry to break it to you but season 2 is very unlikely to happen because the anime has reached its conclusion, but I also wouldn't mind having a season 2, kinda was hoping that kousei would end up with tsubaki
it would definitely be arimaxtsubaki, with probably a triagle with emi igawa, unfortunately tho i think the anime ended pretty well and should be left alone. an OVA tho or 10 years after story would be a delight.

Certainly you're right . But , she never thought of kousei as a man an neither did she until kashiwagi sparked love inside her.

Episodes 12-22 is your season 2. The ending hurts a bit, but still has memories.
