      Glad you like them! I think this one is my favorite actually due to the unusual circumstances and what we needed to do in order to get the board working again.
      Very challenging but we got it in the end.

    Thanks so much! With your help I was able to diagnose the issue with my TV! Seems its likely the same issue with mine, some shorted caps on the back of the board. I suppose it might also be evident given the browning on the inside of the TV right where that processor is located :D

    @Nick’s TV Repair Great video stepping us through the check process.
    1) What does a repair like this cost if it’s just loose solder vs new main board processor chip?
    2) How do you find people who do board solder/chip/circuit repairs like this versus just replace board?
    3) If screen goes dark & silent as you are watching it or changing channels etc, but you can hear it click on/off, what board would you start checking?

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Barbara,
      1)It depends on the board, the type of chip it is that needs to be reballed, and how much prep needs to go into it for the process.
      2) Look no further, you found us! We can perform any reball repair for you. Just fill out the form on our website that I have linked below, and we will let you know if we can fix it for you. Most of our customers are from out of town and mail in their devices for repair.
      3)I can not answer that question without first having you tell me the model number of the TV. I would recommend you fill out the form linked below and we will be able to assist you further from there.

    Great video. I have a Vizo with a very similar board. How can I determine which board I need to send in for repair? The tv will turn...only backlights. At this point the remote will not turn off the tv. There is no sound no video.

      Robert,
      Send me an email to our support@nickstvs.com email with the exact model number of your TV and a reminder of the symtpoms. I don't get notifications when someone replies to a comment on youtube, so it's best to email directly

    Hi Nick. Thanks for posting videos like this. Would like to ask. I have a Sony Led Tv. Model no. Is 65x8000G. The tv powers up ok until after where it says Android and then the whole screen looks distorted. When I press input on the remote (without anything attach to it) screen goes from black to different distortion. However, when I tried plugging on a Nintendo Switch. I was able to play without any problems as long as you do not press anything else. Also when I press apps (on remote) the tv shows up the screen ok except when you choose a video from youtube. Then you will see the distortion again. Wondering what could be wrong with it and if its fixable. Hope you could provide some clues. Thanks again.

      I am not sure I have seen this before, but the first thing I would recommend since we often see software faults would be to do a factory reset to your TV and software update.
      If this does not resolve the fault, then you may have to replace or have your mainbaord fixed as it most likely has a hardware issue if the reset and update don't resolve the issue.

    Hi Nick, great content however, I have to disagree with some of the content in this video especially the discrepancy between the statement at 3:45 that states 9/10 it is the processor and the remaining 10/10 it is with the hdmi processor. Then there is the statement at the end of video at 13:34 where NAND issues are stated that could slow down the TV which is pretty common on some VIZIO models including mine. In other words, even this TV is susceptible to NAND issues and that replacing the NAND chip with proper software can fix problems related to slow downs and other software related issues.
    On a separate note could you please specify the rework station you're using? There are a few out there with various settings and I'm curious to know which models to look into. Thanks again for the video

      Billie, im rounding up.
      3:45 the statement was that the NAND chip almost never fails. 90% of the time the failure is with the processor and 10% of the time with the HDMI processor. That leaves 0% for anything else. Yes, that's not true. About 1% or less of the time the Nand can fail, that's not really worth mentioning. The point I am getting across is don't buy the NAND repair scam kit.
      But none of these numbers are correct anyways because I didn't go through the 1,000 or so boards we serviced and tallied up the faults. This is an estimate based on what I thought was more or less what we have experienced. That number is incorrect by some percentage points but it gets my point across that the large majority of the faults are the cracked joints on the BGA, sometimes it's the HDMI processor but rarely, and almost never it's the NAND.
      The machine we use is the Zhuomao ZM-R5860C but if you are trying to get into BGA repair, I recommend buying the Zhuomao ZM-R5830 instead. It's just as good, but much cheaper. It doesn't have a few of the bells and whistles but those bells and whistles I don't think are needed at all.

    That was my next question how do you test all the boards, can you test diff boards on one TV?

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we for sure double dip. For example we use an XVT473SV TV here in this video and with that one TV we test all the board for the services we offer for the 32", 37" 42" and 55" version, although some have different speaker and power set ups so we have an extra power supply or speakers we can use for those to make it work with it. We also can test the M470NV and M550NV mainboard in that same set.
      Some TV sets we use 1 TV and we can only test that 1 board in it. Some set ups we have we use 1 TV and we can use it to test 100 different versions of the board. Just depends on the model and brand.

      we have a flat rate repair service linked in the description of the video. I would recommend checking it out for more details on our service and process.

    Unfortunately this video quality is too grainy to see what you are testing. I’ve watched others that where very the tiny components is clear as glass.

      This video is in the same quality as the others. Are you sure the settings were maybe not set to 480p or lower? Perhaps if you were on a bad internet connection it automatically lowers the quality?
      On my end this video is just as clear as any others on our channel.
