- Dark decides to cheese Reynor in this pro match of StarCraft 2. Rather than letting the Italian Protoss player sit back and macro, he continuously attacks. In this SC2 game he starts off with an aggressive Spine Crawler Nydus Network rush.

17:22 I've always held that Protoss has a higher ceiling than what the current pro's are capable of and I think this is one example of how Zerg forces players to stretch more mentally because no Zerg player would think attacking this position from less than two directions would be successful, but there are definitely Protoss players that would attempt to death ball it.
I think a big part of that is because of the mindset of a protoss unit is generally superior to a zerg unit 1v1. So protoss players often get in the habit of just plowing through while zerg players have to play the under dog and use asymmetrical warfare (hit and run) or surrounds to win battles. So when you combine that mindset with an individually superior unit you get a slaughter.

I love it. It's time Protoss players be serious and tried to win the grand titles more. I understand as a former sc2 Protoss player that Protoss somehows just entrances us into doing dumbshit stuff cos it's so shiny but some of us have to take the responsible. Go Reynor embrace Aiur!

That hidden nidus worm into another nidus worm for creep that was visible... genius and so clean... cant infuse off creep so double worm primarily for creep spread is just *chefs kiss* genius plus it provides 2 exits if the need to retreat arises...

👏Good on Dark for playing out the match for the viewers. I don't buy it that he didn't know the failed Nydus all-in put the writing on the wall, he knew at least some of the worker/supply/upgrade comparisons and they were all bad news for him lol.
Watched this game already, was really puzzled with spine attack. From the beginning it felt like meh not gonna work unless nydus also hits pocket base
I think dark is notorious for winning his opponents with "noob check" strategies just to humiliate them.

I would have lost to that spine rush 70 times out of 69.
If Dark added a few more spines and queens and kept leapfrogging them into the walloff I think he wins that. Or if not win, I mean, he gets the entire wall, many of the stalkers, and all for a few hundred more minerals.
The toss is then further contained and lacking gas, for a hydra lurker transition, and reynor would still be on stalker immortal.
Just because something is "cheese" doesn't mean it's not the best position to be in, why would you not add more spines and queens?

Why does the scouting probe, when in darks base, switch from mineral line to mineral line at around 1:19, whats the explanation for that? Sorry im new
If the probe is harvesting the minerals, the drone will try to move to another mineral, unless ordered to stay on that same one. If the probe keeps touching the minerals, Dark has to keep ordering his drones to stay still, otherwise they'll walk to another patch, causing another drone to move, and then another, etc. This throws off the rhythm, slightly slowing down their gathering speed. It doesn't make much difference but it can be annoying!
