My neighbor shared some of his guavas with me recently, I believe the Mexican variety. The smell just wafted through the whole house when I brought them in. The flavor was what I would describe as like strawberry-pear. I wish I had the space to grow one myself; too many other fruit trees. Great video of you and your daughter; she's very sweet and well spoken. Thanks Again. 🍓🍐😀
Thank you, guys! I just both my first red guava and got it delivered to Europe in Croatia. And I know now how to eat it. You guys are really cute, father daughter presentation❤ I miss my dad 😢
Great video, thanks for sharing the wonderful fruits! I had lots of fruits similar to the big one, but flies colonized them from inside. I studied other guavas, different from these ones. The large guavas almost serve a meal when grown properly, some small or medium guavas taste very well too. Some fruits are crunchy, some are firm and sweet, some are soft, juicy and sweet and they are easy to grow. It probably takes a couple years to get fruits by planting seeds. Thanks again for the nice videos!
So glad I found this video! Trying to find info about guava varieties for growing and I’m thrilled to find out that so many can grow and fruit in zone 10! We live in Vista. Currently have a pineapple guava. Thanks so much!
Great job, Sophia and Bogdan! Your video made me very curious about guava fruit. Too bad we can't grow them in our country. Hugs and kisses for the girls! xox
Great video. I have been looking for a taste test for the Red Malaysian Guava, since I justed started growing this variety in San Diego to compliment my other guavas. I highly recommend the Beaumont Guava. I am just starting to harvest these. Very sweet.
Thanks Armando. So far, we love the Malaysian guava, it is our favorite. I am however impressed with the Chinese guava (taste/texture). I would love to also try the Beaumont guava. If you have other varieties, please let me know. Please let me know where you got the Beaumont guava, I don't know much about it.
@@thetreefather86 I got the Beaumont Guava tree at Home Depot in a 15 gallon pot, at the Imperial Beach location. It was labeled Mexican Beaumont. This is the same variety grown commercially in Hawaii.
@@thetreefather86 If you'd like to try some, enable the business inquiry option in your channel so I can send you info. I think some will be ripening up next week.
in heaven I'm gonna eat every type of guava and every other fruit that I missed out on in this life. I can't even buy guava at a store and never tasted it
I love guavas, you are so fortunate to get to taste 5 different types of guavas. I love to collect more guavas at my place hi from Australia Subbed#326 friend 👍
I have a Chinese, Lemon, Cherry, and Pineapple type. My Chinese hasn't produced fruit in a few years even though it does flower. The cherry plant produces A LOT. The lemon one also produces a lot as well as the pineapple guava. I'm also in Vista,CA.
Awesome. It is worth testing to see what works for you in your particular micro climate. In Kern County should work well. Keep them mulched, well-fed and watered.
@@thetreefather86 egyptian guava very excellent. i can offer you cuttings if you want. i do know guava cuttings are very difficult to root. i always fail to root them
Thanks for guava share. Daughter is adorable and smart. She could probably do the video solo with little prompting. I'm a beginner and recently was gifted a white tropical guava sounds like the Mexican variety? Will see.
Great video ! I have a question: are your guavas ripening in Sept- Oct ? We planted pink tropical guava from Home depot, it flowers in Jun-Jul, but ripens in March-Apr ( we are in Vista, zone 10). It has nice smell, but tastes like a green banana, no sweetness. I am not sure, if it is so tasteless because it ripens in early spring or it is a normal taste for these guavas.
Every variety of guava has ripens in a diferent time of year. Right now, I have Indian guavas and other guavas have flowers. If you plant more varieties, you'll have a long guava season
That was a great review. I was at the store yesterday and they had Mexican guava’s ( but looked more like your lemon guavas ) but any way I was wondering what they taste like or how you eat them . So thank you for sharing . I feel a little more educated and will Definitely have to try some now ..
I'm glad you were able to find some guava in the store. It is all about learning and becoming more educated. Too bad you can't try a fully ripe guava from an organic garden.
Loved the video and seeing these 5 types. Do you have a video of the other 5 types you grow? I’m in San Diego and I’ve only seen the Mexican variety sold regularly. I think I saw the Chinese variety at 99 Ranch
I dont know what size your trees are but all my ruby trees fruited within the first year even the 3 foot one but of course the size was only a lil bigger than a golf ball
Guava's rot at the bottom when they are too close to the ground, the ones with the bigger fruit are more likely to do that because they are more likely to rest on the ground.
@@jborrego2406 This one didn't have a worm, but it touched the ground and had some ground related roth. In tropical/humid places, guavas will have additional pests but not the case in Southern California based on my experience.
Hi there, I just watched your video last night. I looking for the Malaysian guava. Do you still have that for sell. If you do please let me know. I would like to buy one.
Your daughter is precious.. love her
thank you

Hi I live in Canada can I buy some guava and leaves please
Unfortunately, I'm not a commercial grower and don't sell/ship. My content is just for knowledge sharing
Tropical white
I don't have room for any more trees.....but it should be on my short list.
The big whit one is called "Taiwanese white" not Chinese..
I live in the middle of Kansas ( Nowhere) so we don’t get these fruits.
You both look pretty human to me. I think it will work.
Thank you. You're too funny
Guavas should be crunchy then you will get the best test. Most asian like it Crunchy. We donot like the soft ones.
