@msicreatorz16-z tourists tend to be more wealthy. they are often disrespectful to how the locals do things, usually cause of ignorance. there are lots of more reasons as well. also, if you had to rob someone to live, but you reside in a poor country, you would feel less bad about robbing someone you don't know much about compared to someone you know are poor themselves.
There are easier ways to get laid than going to dangerous 3rd world shithole ghost towns where people are desperate for anything they can get out of you and you stick out as a sore thumb.
It really helps knowing the language, culture and having a local with you who likes you. Unlike many places in the east, most people in Latin America are really good people, but just like other places, the workers will try their hardest to get as much money out of you as possible for their families. The interesting thing is he picked a local that isn't poor. If she was poor, she would be used to the harassment at the bus stops. If you think that is bad, you should try the Philippine bus stops. Those are really bad.
I know this comment will get lost, but seriously, thank you for always being so kind to all the small businesses at each place you visit! They are all working so hard. You are one awesome guy!

He makes so much money and I find he's kind but greedy. When I go somewhere (I'm not rich at all) where the salary is 5 to 20 times less than my home country. I don't buy just 1 beer for 1 dollar. I'll buy some shit for later and tell them to keep change. Give tips. Let the people at the bus station try to scam me and negotiate (while still getting scamme) but at least I know I'm helping someone eat.
