  • On the last battle at sea in Narvik, HMS Warspite did get som hit with deadly force on the german destroyer Erich Giese. With enginetrouble, the ship was laying at the entrance to Narvik harbour. The battle was hard and with no possibility to escape the enemy. Four other german destroyers manage to escape in the Rombaksfjord, one in Herjangsfjord to escape from captivity. They all ran ashore at land, while Erich Giese went down to the dark cold seawater at 72 meters depth. At this time on the 13.april 1940, none german destroyers were left behind. Sunken or ran ashore, ten destroyers end the german history of naval battle in Narvik. Two english destroyers did end the same tragic ending. HMS Hardy end at land, while HMS Hunter were sunken at deep sea in Ofotfjord at the 10th april 1940.
    This dive on Erich Giese is a tech dive at 50-75m depth. In the entrance to the busy Narvik harbour, no diving must be done without planning and licence from Narvik Harbour Office. Huge Iron-ore ship with tugboats, need free pass to port. The wreck is in the line of shipentrance to port.

    Many thanks for sharing Frank. Very sharp pictures with great illumination. I hope to be able to dive in Narvik one day as well. And don't worry about the challenging comments below. My grandma is 94 and she likes your video and music while while at the same time questions whether any of the colleagues below have been living back in the day when this battle happened. Her recommendation is to focus on what matters in life, while you are alive - look after yourself instead of others and maintain peace now, so she said 🙂

    The only problem with videos like this, which I really enjoy trying to watch, is the choice of the music for the background. It's a personal preference as to which music you feel best suits the mood, and most of the time the video creator gets it wrong! If it's a video that I really want to watch, I turn the sound off! 😼

    Thank you. But I have to say that the music is inappropriate since Z12 is a grave.

      Tnx. It's very easy to get licence. Only plan diving due to weather and shipsailing of the huge iron ore ships. Weather from southeast can be some rough sea. No bouy attached to the wreck. Only temparary bouy allowed.

    The music is so bad! Z 12 lost 83 men, most were killed by the Tommys when they used machine guns to fire on the people in the water. At 1:40 it looks like the "Klappbuchs".

      At this warzone, a lot of people died, won't let the music stop my work to documentry the wreck. I respect all the diseased men during the WWII battle. Set the sound off and enjoy. Many tnx for your opinion. Respect your way of meaning.

    Why do all divers have such terrible taste in music?

    • @bangfilmogfoto
      @bangfilmogfoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes it has with which music is free to use on video. For public use of material belonging to other musicians, cost a fortune to use. Copyright is a matter of safety on a artist work.

    This is a dive upon a dead ship - a grave. Why? Why the disgusting taste in music? Very disrespectful, Frank Bang. P-A Anderdsen has a much better video, and does not add boxed Techno-Shit soundtrack that sound like a Pachinko Parlor
