- HEY PEOPLE!!! Back at school now. Here is a video of me talking about the best and worst things about boarding school while I get ready for a Saturday night. By the way, I agree with some of the rules (drugs etc) but was just telling you what the rules are! I hope you enjoy. See you soon xxx

you could check out residential public schools. you dont have to pay tuition so it’s a lot cheaper than private boarding schools

We are exactly the same, but at club we get two glasses of alcohol however we are breathalysed before and after to check we haven’t had more than the units shown by two drinks.

i watch another channel of a girl in boarding school, and hers is so much more lenient. they have barely any punishments. and she’s always having so much fun with her friends. they are basically allowed A LOT.

I like that you got your own room. If I could have my own room I would have tried boarding school.
in poland we have now online classes for all schools, so ive been home. since 15th of october and also ON QUARANTINE until 16th of november. at least i dont have to wear mask but not leaving the house for 5 weeks is little too much for me.
I have a a couple of questions...
1) What happens if you mess around in lessons/don't do the work/distract others?
2)You said that girls aren't allowed in the boys dorms (and vise versa) which is understandable, but what if somebody is a lesbian, gay or just generally part of the lgbtq+ community? What if you don't identify as male or female? What house would they be put in?
3) This isn't a question but I think a good video idea would be 'tips for people starting boarding school' (if you haven't done it already!)

Hi there, I go to boarding school so here are some answers (a year later lol)
1) You can get detentions and house gated (not allowed to leave the boarding house) very similar to a day school
2) If someone is part of the LGBTQ community they get the choice of whether they want to share a dorm (sometimes they decide they want to have their own dorm) if they do not identify as either male or female it would be up to them to decide to go into the girls or boys house.

1. They'll send you to your mentors, and focus on you more.
2. Our school doesn't allow you to go to any other dorm house than your own because of strict inter-house competitions.

“Not going home for 5 weeks”. Think yourself lucky! When I was in boarding school a friend of mines whose parents worked overseas couldn’t get him to be with them but only fit the summer! All the half-terms he spent with the headmasters family and the other two holidays he spent with Grandparents. This went on for about 3-4 years before their contract run out.
Gosh. I have friends at school who haven't been home for 4 and a half years and they won't go home until long after they graduate in June. I know the feeling. It sucks. 😓
@@mattiaspollitt3877 I must admit that I’m 60 and most of the stuff she said brought back a lot of memories! Although my dorms ranged in size from 6 to 24 people! We always had to have the windows open during the night. I just loved waking up to a room at 2 degrees Celsius! I did have fun though!

Dude my school legit the same, especially how bad the food is we get raw chicken all the time to the point we celebrate when somethings cooked decent
Reminds me of my UK boarding school days as an international student. I went for sixth form 8 years ago, and they were literally the best two years of my life so far. Our rules weren't nearly as strict as yours, we could wear make up and earrings, and alcohol was frowned upon but not reeeally a punishable offence unless you're visibly inebriated... or threw up in your houseparent's kitchen sink... We had great food, our campus and boarding houses were beautiful, I did only go home twice a year and that was a bit hard, but I was glad I did it. The only complaint I have is that we had a department head who displayed favouritism, usually to pretty blonde girls, and does this subtly racist thing of speaking deliberately slowly to kids whose first language wasn't English (like myself).

@Cecelia C IMO boarding schools are shit I went from year 10 to year 12 and it seriously annoyed and scared the shit out of me and IMO kids while they are students in school should be living at home with either their parents or guardians not be sent to boarding school the food in my boarding school was fckg horrible and it was like been locked up prison and the students basically have no life of their own
@@Eltonlaleham I'm sorry you had such a bad experience of boarding school, it does sound horrible. I was lucky I loved mine, I would have gone for year 10 if I had known about my school earlier.

You started talking about school food! Things haven’t changed then, especially the fish pie! Our tea was so stewed I literally couldn’t tell tea from coffee when I went home for the holidays. The macaroni cheese was inedible. We used to try and getaway with eating just one piece! Please let me know if it has changed?
I don't know why school food is so often disgusting. It's as if the management just doesn't care. Before I went into hospital for major surgery eight years ago, people said, ooh be prepared for some awful food. But actually the food was very good throughout the nine days I was in. Before you could really enjoy a full meal, since after the surgery you don't have much of an appetite, you could order a sandwich and the hospital made these egg mayonnaise sandwiches fresh that were simply the best. Later, we had roast dinners with all the trimmings, plus a choice of desserts. This was a normal NHS hospital in Nottinghamshire. But it's all down to the management, whether schools, hospitals, or the military. Did nobody put in an official complaint about the food at your school?
@@SuperLittleTyke I was at boarding school in the 1970’s. If there was a way of complaining officially we weren’t told! If there was I wouldn’t bet our chances of getting improved food, more likely the food would’ve got worse!
@@marcuswardle3180 Yes, anyone in authority doesn't like their authority being challenged. It's as if they feel under threat. I didn't go to boarding schools, but the food at all the state schools and later college I attended was good. Not brilliant, and I hated the custard that was always too thick, but generally it was okay. All my schooling happened in Kent, so maybe that county put school meals at the top of its agenda. The problem at boarding schools is that everybody only has the one choice.

No pets you can have sleepovers on the weekend and yea you can get delivery food

Yeh u can’t have pets (except in my house one girl did sneak in a fish tank with a fish lol), and then at my school u don’t have sleepovers with other houses and yes takeaways are what get u through the week because food is awful!!!

Your boarding school is way stricter than our omg I would not survive no alcohol like we don’t even get punishment for vamping wtf redoing prep and no earrings or makeup praying 4 u 💌💌
where do you learn?
It really depends on the school. There are way stricter ones, like Christ’s Hospital for example. And then really relaxed ones like Hertwood House

I went to boarding school it was fckg scary and it scared and annoyed the shit out of me IMO kids should while they are students in school live at home with their parentsor their guardians not be sent away from home to be brought up by total and utter strangers because the kids need to live at home until they grow up end their shitty student lives leave school and become adults.

my dad wants me to go but my mum doesnt. i live with just my mum but going to boarding school would be a godsend for me bc my mum has anger issues and makes going about school very difficult and stressful. Going to a boarding school would mean i could focus on schooling and actually see my friends outside of school. its different for everyone IMO
