I think the only thing that went wrong with Saturday Night Main Event was the fact that Braun Breaker didn’t drop the IC Championship to Shamus. His 2nd IC reign has been lackluster and WWE has barely pushed him recently. That would have made this episode of SNME more memorable.

As a casual viewer of WWE, this was the first show I've watched all the way through in years. That says something about how entertaining this show was.
I'll have to disagree. At times it looked like Nia and Sheamus might actually win their title matches. Also, who could have predicted Jacob Fatu absolutely destroying Braun Strowman? Not sure what else could have been done to make things more unpredictable.
I get they wanted to rocket-elevate Fatu for a coming solo run, but I feel so bad for Strowman. Ever since his first push babyface push (even before he got fired by Vince the first time) got cut abruptly, he's been stuck as a jobber or attraction. The string of injuries didn't help, but he was so over as a babyface and deserves way more than he gets. He should have been a major name player in the upper card, not just being a big guy that's only used to put others over or get a cheap crowd pop.
Jacob beating Braun is a great way to show that Jacob is powerful and can actually hold his own, I just hope WWE doesn’t make it a habit that Braun loses in order to put someone else over as that just destroys Brauns career and any credibility he has as a monster powerhouse

Jacob is just what Braun was years ago when he was facing Brock Lesnar the first time. Or when Mark Henry destroyed the Undertaker. Then when Taker returned, he destroyed Henry.

The crowd sat there silently barely enjoying that till he was eliminated and cheers!! The one thing I would have added to the “Bad” list was the fact that if you tuned in for the first 6-7 minutes of the show they had both English and Spanish commentators talking(Translating) at the same time. I almost stopped watching if it went on over 15-20 minutes as it was kinda lowkey distracting but fixed it shortly after those first few minutes. Probably the least of the worries when it comes to that but I could say I enjoyed the show to an extent. Everyone retained their titles given the Rumble around the corner next week.
The match between Bron Brekker and Sheamus is showing that Bron is all but ready to move on passed the IC Title and should be ready to drop it to Sheamus. I see Sheamus finally getting his grand slam victory at Mania and having his moment. Then Bron can be like Randy Savage and move onto the main event scene.

If the ref is going to stop the match because someone is obviously beating their opponent too much, shouldn't that person be the winner? Jacob attacking the ref was warranted.
Stroman vs Fatu ended exactly how it needed to with the DQ finish and the beat down afterwards that had Stroman selling and putting over Fatu so hard and showing that this feud is just getting started. And at the very least this could be exactly what Bron needs to get a new direction for whenever he returns. You know I just thought of something, what if they paired Stroman up the absent Olmos and let the two of them run rough shod as two out of control behemoths letting loose. Have Stroman be like fighting with a massive chip on his shoulders.
4:17 Jey looked awesome in this match, they are so close to giving him a World Title. I honestly thought he might win a couple times in this match. Going into it, I knew Gunther would retain, but I really did second guess it there.
Jey isn't worthy of carrying the title to mania no offense. Hopefully John Cena can dethrone Gunther at mania and wins his 17th world heavyweight championship.

In Rhea's defense when Nia dropped her on her back that's when I noticed she was in pain. Rhea definitely gave an old injury that flared up. Some wrestlers go through that too.
It's bound to happen eventually, the show has only been back 2 months, they're only doing 4 a year so I suspect they'll be further apart from here. That will give them more time to tie things into what's happening on the other shows.
I understand the building up of Jacob Fatu, but it made Strowman look weak as a big man powerhouse. Bronson Reed was a more believable adversary in terms of being capable of destroying a man of Strowman's size. I'm not saying Jacob shouldn't have beat him, but it should've been more of an uphill battle for Fatu instead of him destroying Braun and walking away appearing to be unharmed and invincible. Hopefully this will lead to a rematch at WM.
I was thinking that too. If they really want heat on him, he should throw some refs out of the ring, male and FEMALE. Or possibly have him destroy Rhea somehow for Nia.
2 hopes I have for the future 1. Belts will have to change at one point. If they don't then this show become similar to AEW Battle of the Belts (where Belts never change hands) 2. I hope the debut a modernized Wing Eagle Belt. 2K24 has awesome fan made designs. I wish the would use those as inspiration but still having it fit the modern belt style.
That Fatu match. Highlight of the night. Pretty much knew none of titles would change hands(maybe IC). I knew they weren't going to kill the way they had built up Fatu. The way they did it was great. They are building Bronson Reed to face him.
Felt like that really helped established Fatu as an unstoppable force. Even though at this point would like Cena to win Rumble based on nostagia. Wouldnt mind seeing Fatu let loose at Rumble. Even if he dont win would love to see him in the Elimation Chamber doing damage

I loved SNME, I'm glad no storyline was being furthered, this felt like a wrestling show, the in-ring wrestling was great. Michael Cole did an amazing job on commentary, Gunther vs. Jey was top tier story telling, Jacob made Braun realise even 1%'s have 1%'s.
I'm sorry but am I the only one who had issues watching SNME at the beginning on Peacock, where both English and Spanish translations were colliding at the same time?? Also, SNME was VERY PREDICTABLE tonight!?!?! Don't get me wrong, the matches were fine (EXCEPT for Fatu v. Strowman match being phenomenal), but Sheamus SHOULD HAVE WON, that way a storyline for Bron would have started for him to aim for the World Heavyweight Championship!!

The camera cuts in Jacob vs strowman were down right ugly for sure. You can blatantly see brawn put the blood capsule back under the black part of the mat plus see him grab it. As well as see that Jacob wasn’t even hitting him with the as Pat McFee stated “dump truck” 😂😂 if they’re gonna do blood stunts I feel like it should be pre-shot if it’s already not for camera cuts cause you’re losing your magic letting stuff like that be seen

True except Brock was not always loved. I have seen all his matches and the one where he was the number one entrance in the Royal Rumble and threw out so many men. The crowd sat there silently barely enjoying that till he was eliminated and cheers!! No one wanted to see any wrestlers beating up other wrestlers and throwing them out not giving them a chance to fight back. It was like a long boredom.

The one thing I would have added to the “Bad” list was the fact that if you tuned in for the first 6-7 minutes of the show they had both English and Spanish commentators talking(Translating) at the same time. I almost stopped watching if it went on over 15-20 minutes as it was kinda lowkey distracting but fixed it shortly after those first few minutes. Probably the least of the worries when it comes to that but I could say I enjoyed the show to an extent. Everyone retained their titles given the Rumble around the corner next week.
The match between Bron Brekker and Sheamus is showing that Bron is all but ready to move on passed the IC Title and should be ready to drop it to Sheamus.
I see Sheamus finally getting his grand slam victory at Mania and having his moment.
Then Bron can be like Randy Savage and move onto the main event scene.

Stroman vs Fatu ended exactly how it needed to with the DQ finish and the beat down afterwards that had Stroman selling and putting over Fatu so hard and showing that this feud is just getting started. And at the very least this could be exactly what Bron needs to get a new direction for whenever he returns.
You know I just thought of something, what if they paired Stroman up the absent Olmos and let the two of them run rough shod as two out of control behemoths letting loose. Have Stroman be like fighting with a massive chip on his shoulders.

In Rhea's defense when Nia dropped her on her back that's when I noticed she was in pain. Rhea definitely gave an old injury that flared up. Some wrestlers go through that too.

It's bound to happen eventually, the show has only been back 2 months, they're only doing 4 a year so I suspect they'll be further apart from here. That will give them more time to tie things into what's happening on the other shows.
I understand the building up of Jacob Fatu, but it made Strowman look weak as a big man powerhouse. Bronson Reed was a more believable adversary in terms of being capable of destroying a man of Strowman's size. I'm not saying Jacob shouldn't have beat him, but it should've been more of an uphill battle for Fatu instead of him destroying Braun and walking away appearing to be unharmed and invincible. Hopefully this will lead to a rematch at WM.
Far as I see it, this was a huge swing-and-a-miss on pushing Jacob Fatu as a top heel. Crowd was rabid for him beating up Strowman.
I was thinking that too. If they really want heat on him, he should throw some refs out of the ring, male and FEMALE. Or possibly have him destroy Rhea somehow for Nia.

2 hopes I have for the future
1. Belts will have to change at one point. If they don't then this show become similar to AEW Battle of the Belts (where Belts never change hands)
2. I hope the debut a modernized Wing Eagle Belt. 2K24 has awesome fan made designs. I wish the would use those as inspiration but still having it fit the modern belt style.

That Fatu match. Highlight of the night. Pretty much knew none of titles would change hands(maybe IC). I knew they weren't going to kill the way they had built up Fatu. The way they did it was great. They are building Bronson Reed to face him.
Felt like that really helped established Fatu as an unstoppable force. Even though at this point would like Cena to win Rumble based on nostagia. Wouldnt mind seeing Fatu let loose at Rumble. Even if he dont win would love to see him in the Elimation Chamber doing damage

I loved SNME, I'm glad no storyline was being furthered, this felt like a wrestling show, the in-ring wrestling was great. Michael Cole did an amazing job on commentary, Gunther vs. Jey was top tier story telling, Jacob made Braun realise even 1%'s have 1%'s.
I'm sorry but am I the only one who had issues watching SNME at the beginning on Peacock, where both English and Spanish translations were colliding at the same time?? Also, SNME was VERY PREDICTABLE tonight!?!?! Don't get me wrong, the matches were fine (EXCEPT for Fatu v. Strowman match being phenomenal), but Sheamus SHOULD HAVE WON, that way a storyline for Bron would have started for him to aim for the World Heavyweight Championship!!
