It's only fair to put up the price up if they can improve the service, I would happily pay double that if I can get a quicker re-test, or if they did a tier system where you can pay £100 to book a test or you can pay to book a fast track test for like £300 but companies & bots can't book them so it's just open to Joe public to book.
You could even put a system into place where a standard test is £100 but you will have to wait a few months, and you can book it whenever you like, or a fast tract one where you get a test date within a month but you have to have a minimum amount of driving hours with an intructor to book in for it. If they put their heads together, they could make it much more cost-effective and efficient & a better system for drivers.
Is it possible they are also doing this to put people off taking their tests who are not quite ready but hoping to fluke a pass? It's a lot more money to lose for pupils who aren't quite ready but are likely to fail but hoping to pass?
Not surprised to be honest, driving lessons pricing may increase too as a result, people in Glasgow are already charging 95 to 100 per two hour lessons. Shocking to be honest, especially when they are reluctant to give you one hour lessons... Thanks for the update got sidetracked with my rant

Thank god I just passed yesterday 🎉
Congratulations
Congratulations @reuly23 you sexy lady. x
Luckily I passed almost a month ago, but I feel for those who are going to have to pay £100. That's a hike in price that isn't justified at all 😑
I agree
It won’t matter because there’s no tests to book anyway
True

Yes is one solution that has been mentioned by DVSA
Seems like another Stealth tax

You could be right.
Everything’s it’s going UP expensively
So true
Glad I just did my test..... Oh wait, I actually paid £212 to book mine 😑🤦♂️
That is expensive. But if you are ready and cannot find a test for months, then it makes sense
@@JamesTravis True! As soon as I heard the examiner say I passed, I forgot all the worries about the costs.
