CORRECTION: I said in the video that George Moore built the house and helped his tenants during the Famine, I need to correct myself: George Henry Moore (his grandfather) built the house and it was George Moore (grandson) who helped during the Famine. I got mixed up with their names while filming haha, and now the dates/years make more sense.
@@AmyMcDonaghGuitar now i could be wrong. I know another landlord in that area went and but a bet on aintree grand national won alot of money and divided it among the tenants. Im sure local knowledge would have it but both from that part of the country. Good stories, not the usual.

I live in Alberta and have for many years. However Nova Scotia will always be home to me. So many family and friends still live there. I miss the Ocean and the beautiful countryside. Great vid - I have brilliant memories of the west of Ireland from a trip down the Wild Atlantic Way a couple of years back (Ballyshannon to Galway!). Stopped at Enniscrone and walked on that beach - was gorgeous (between the rain!) ... wasn't too sure about the seaweed baths though! 😂😂😂

My goodness, Moore Hall hasn't changed in 50 years since I saw it as a child with my late aunt who lived in Liskillen, about two miles from it on the Ballinrobe - Ballyglass road. Subscribed. 🇮🇪 💚
Great video. Ireland reminds me so much of Wales. Beautiful scenery, lot's of historic houses & castles among others. But one thing I didn't know about South Wales, was that South Wales is home to "Waterfall country" ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterfall_Country_(Wales) ). Actually been to some of the Waterfalls listed in that article. They also have a Roman Legion museum, as part of Wales was a part of the Roman Empire. So many things to see, so little time :)

Was the grandson the person who gave away seeds to the locals to grow food that was meant for the farm. He was disowned by his family for doing so.
