Talk about shifting gears! From CreeponJune to Christmas in July! Extreme! I downloaded the same kit, and that napkin, wow! It looked like rich velvet! This is going to be a wild ride! Here we go!
It is a huge shift!!! It has taken my brain a while to settle into it. Video 3 is where I seem to settle. You got the kit! How cool! If you share your makes, please make sure you tag me so I can see them. The napkin is beautiful . I am so glad I found them last weekend!

Hi Jodi, Just love sweet pea curiosities , they have such cute kits. I will pop in and out. I am not a huge Christmas in July person. I love Christmas but when the weather is cooler.
I totally get that! I like doing it in July because I don’t want to pack all my Christmas stuff when we travel! So this is a way to play with Christmas while at home with ALL my goodies!!I will try to make a couple non-Christmas things if I can! My time is limited right now.
The stamping up paper may be too thick for the die. It is quality, but it is thick. Love the napkin! You put so much pressure on yourself. Relax and go with the flow 😊 anxious to see what's next!
Thanks. I have found a calmer place and am enjoying working on the book. Video 2 .... I think I will label it Murphy. Then, things settle in 3. lol
I made an altered book in the past but I was not pleased how it turned out, your explanation about how and why to pull pages has made me see my mistakes. I am looking over my plans for the month and will see if I will have time to do a Christmas in July project or not. Thanks for sharing looking forward to your next video.🇨🇦

Great project so far@ I love altered books and I am thinking of doing one myself. Try using a toothbrush on the die cut to remove all the pieces. I use a medium, I don't think a soft-bristled brush will work. :) t.
Thanks! I have the Sizzix tool to remove the small bits. This die just doesn’t cut well. I am having fun with this project! Well, except Video 2….. I have a disaster occur and have to overcome it-which I do in 3.
Intricate dies almost always need a metal shim cutting plate. I see it is a Sizzix die. I am surprised they do not suggest it on the back of the package. Sizzix does sell them. I absolutely love your altered music Hymn book. ❤
Oh! I didn’t know there are metal plates! I will double check the back of the package. Maybe my husband has a piece of metal I can use to try that! Thank you!

Your Christmas tree die, it’s probably the die…
Can sharpen dies by using a soda/beer can, give the can a rinse, cut ends off, slice downwards so you can lay it out, then run it through your machine with the die, can make metal charms this way too but with those can sandpaper the edges and back with card.

Hi Jodie. Maybe you could try to spritz your the paper with a bit of water before cutting the tree. I have seen others do the spritz before cutting with success. I occasionally spritz before using embossing folders. Just dampen,Not wet is key.

Are you able to put a couple of card stock shims to see if that helps the Christmas tree cut out?
I have struggled with this die so much!!! I will try to remember to bring it this winter and maybe we can figure it out together? Love you!
