yeah but there’s a lot of things that isn’t true plus orthodoxy First and foremost, It is not the Church that Christ appointed. That's the number one :)
Since leaving the Church in 1453, they have denied the authority of the Chair of Peter, the Pope. This is of course the deal-breaker. There are some other more subtle differences than theology but the main point is plenty.
As a Catholic, I confess I love the Orthodox Church and many of their traditions. Many of my friends are Orthodox. But I did not choose it when I converted, because they have no authority. And denying the Pope they have deny their churches authority to even hold councils. You'll notice they did do not have developed doctrine since 1453. This is because no one has the authority to call people together, and even if they unilaterally just decided to meet no one can decide and what dogmatic direction they should go If there are disagreements.
There are many lovely and faithful people in the Orthodox Church, I pray for all of them and that we are together as a Church once more.

ere are a number of differences of view and articulation of that view in various theological points, but these are largely exaggerated and taken to polemics, from both sides.
The most fundamental difference between us is in our views of papal authority and the role of the Pope. As Catholics, we believe that the Pope is
Chief among the bishops, as Peter was chief of the Apostles
Has universal jurisdiction. This means that while other bishops do have authority, the Pope has authority over them, in every area on the globe. This means that people can appeal to the Pope, and he is the end of the line in terms of canonical decisions. The Pope has the final say over everyone in the Church.
The center of Communion for the Church. This means that the Church is defined from who is in communion with the Pope. We know, from loads of things, that the Church must be united, and so the way that we understand this in reality is seeing that this unity must be based around something. That something is actually someone, the bishop of Rome. You are in the Church or not based on whether you share communion with the Pope.
The teacher of the true faith. This means that the Pope will never teach error, and that the beliefs of the Church is what they believe in Rome.
Taken together, all of these give you the definition of infallibility of Vatican 1. The Pope, when speaking in his role of the Pope and from the Chair of Saint Peter, cannot err in faith and morals. With this and some of the previously mentioned things about the Pope defining the center of communion of the Church, it also implies certain things about how we understand the structure of the Church.
Our understanding of the structure of the Church is called ecclesiology, and because Catholic ecclesiology is so obviously based around the single person of the Pope, it's clear that the Orthodox must differ from us on this. They believe that the structure of the Church on Earth is different, and to explain this, there have been a variety of opinions and possibilities put forth. These models of ecclesiology from the Orthodox are usually more focused on the bishop and synod level, meaning that the Church is more defined through councils and bishops rather than from a single person.
This also reflects the practices of their Churches, which are governed through patriarchs and synods, rather than one bishop directly involved in the administration of 97% of the other bishops of the world. There is more of a small-scale focus, with national Churches and bodies of bishops serving the faithful in each country.
In some sense the Eastern Catholic Churches follow this national structure, but this isn't so obvious in the West because we don't live in an Eastern European country.
Some major issues I would point out are:
Fundamental lack of clarity in ecclesiology, and in practice, a lack of functionality. (Do you need to be greek or russian? Why? Oh it doesn't matter? Well it matters a lot to your hierarchy..) Efforts to have a council have failed over and over, and individual Orthodox Churches have officially condoned abominable practices (Abortion). This presents a major issue for some of their ecclesial models, because it implies that the Church has fallen.
Extremely aggravated relations between various Orthodox Churches, to the point of excommunicating each other over clearly political issues. Take for example the Ukrainian Church, the recognition of which has led to excommunications between the Orthodox Churches based in Moscow and Constantinople. Bonkers.
Schisms literally all the time over insignificant reasons. I already mentioned Ukraine, but also, there are the Old Believers groups who left the Orthodox Churches because of calendars and the way that you make the sign of the cross. This shows totally dysfunctional authority and a certain stubbornness.
Lack of charity towards other Christians. Some Orthodox Churches rebaptize people from Catholic Churches. The practice of rebaptism was addressed in the 4th century by Saint Augustine, and it is totally, sinfully inappropriate in most cases. It is only acceptable in very limited circumstances where the original baptism was fundamentally heretical, and the total failure on getting this right indicates a shameful lack of charity in understanding other Christians. Further, it is not uncommon to find vicious slander from Orthodox about Catholic Saints and Popes.
Obviously, I think you should be Catholic for a variety of reasons, not simply because of what I listed. The Papacy is the fundamental issue between us, with the theological issues often boiling down to people not wanting to understand each other.
