I'm fairly sure he worked at all the locations actually- even fnaf 2 considering it had the same complaint as fnaf 1 on there, odor. Idk about you, but I feel a rotting corpse would be filled with the stench of death, it's a smell that once you smell it you KNOW something died. You just know. And I know some people have the headcanon that fnaf 4 was actually Michael after all his family was dead, basically schizophrenia developed by trauma. Also, I feel like his past experiences could be another reason why Michael would help Gregory. He knows what being hunted down by an animatronic feels like, and he knows that better than *_anyone_* in this franchise. And I think that would be a pretty good reason to help, Michael experienced it all himself, he doesn't want a little kid to go through what he, as an adult, is traumatized by.

Even if Gregory isn’t CC or even related to him in anyway mike would definitely still want to help him to try to prevent the same thing from happening again. Because of a video they saw Gregory was scared around Freddy so he moved to Monty, Freddy got upset and rebooted his system causing Mike to come out. Freddy and Mike we're finally getting along but since he was rebooted Mike got mad at Gregory. I hope this helped :)
