Another good one, Scotty. I wish I would've began collecting FTD vinyl when they first began, but like your brother, I went the cd route. Now, when I see these and enjoy the Friday Music LPs, it brings back great memories of childhood.

Got mine yesterday! Great release! Love the RCA white label from 1964-1968! Top notch release all the way! I love it when they include the mono masters!

This is definitely not only one of my Top 5 Elvis films, but have always loved the soundtrack. Another missed opportunity to release a full album.

Hello, Kenny, Thanks for your well-informed knowledge insofar as Elvis' extensive discography. I am making a suggestion as to the continuation of the entire Elvis FTD vinyl catalogue. It pangs me to know that these offerings will not be available to the aspiring collector, especially after discovering these volumes years after their release never to be seen again. I don't think it's fair and it's a series that should be available to Elvis fans throughout perpetuity. Do you think that such a request for a petition for all of these albums to be available at all times should be addressed? I'm thinking in making such a move since it's deserving of fans who missed out on previous titles through no fault of their own .I think that it's worth the effort contacting Sony about this. I'd like your opinion on this and am wondering if you yourself had such a notion. Thanks, Kenny.

      Hello George..
      That’s a tough one sir..
It’s not just Elvis it happens with..when items have a limited edition that’s the whole point..
A limited run..I feel your pain as I had to pay over the odds for a few of the earlier titles..
However I know they have started doing special edition releases of the cd packages to offer nearly everything they have of a particular session..
However this would be impractical for the amount of vinyl it would need to do such a release..
I’ve heard many ask why they can’t reissue these releases..I guess in part it comes down to how many more releases they have in the pipeline for the vinyl as indeed I think it’s 39 now and 40 with the forthcoming Easy Come Easy Go which in comparison to the cds is very small so I think the longevity of the vinyl has many more to go yet..or that’s my hope..
Anything is worth a go..I contacted Sony earlier this year about another matter though about FTD but heard nothing back ..
      Good luck sir
      Scotty😊

@@ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel Hello, Scotty, Sorry that I confused your name initially. I've been busy with personal matters that I forgot to write you back about 6 weeks ago. I appreciate your response and I acknowledge the options that CDs provide. But for me an album is the true, original representation of a given recording and should always be available. I believe this now more so than ever with the major resurgence that vinyl has achieved. I think the LP media was forced out of the market by companies who wanted to make way for the compact disc format, forcing the consumer to go along. Within a few decades of vinyl becoming scarce, I missed that choice dearly. But I am glad that it's once more in the the buying-public mainstream that is even besting CDs themselves. In any event, thank you so much for your commentary, Scotty and good luck in your most likely exhausting but gratifying search crusades for that next record. Happy Holidays.
      Sincerely,
      George Rush.

The colonel at his absolute best....a soundtrack all owned by Elvis Presley and Gladys Presley music publishing companies respectively. No new soundtrack to record. No musicians to pay. It was a win win for Allied. And Elvis who didn't have to record what would have been inferior material to what material they eventually used. At the time his response to the letter you referenced in your video was well past the deadline date the Colonel imposed and his response was short and a little abrupt ' Arrangements with records ok' . Good video 👍

@@ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel I like it. There were still songs on this album I did not have and do like. Although I do not know about the mono side 4. Don't hate it but for some reason I can't figure out why some people prefer mono unless the stereo versions are mastered badly. I wish someone could explain what I am missing about mono recordings.

I like the ftd vinyl but I read from a thread that they don't sound as good as the original 50s and 60s 70s release they say they are taken from cd not masters

    • @ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel
      @ScottysElvisPresleyMusicChanel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s a good question Nick..
I can talk honestly about this as I have multiple 50s..60s..70s 80 and 90s releases..
I also have all of the Ftd releases ..its swings and roundabouts..
Some 50s pressings sound glorious..as do many 60s..but I will say this even though the Ftd releases are digital some sound superb..some sound ok..it’s varies on which record you are listening to.
I have listened to the Ftd cds and they sound as good as anything I’ve heard so to have that recording on vinyl isn’t such a bad thing..
I’ve also listened to the Pure Analogue recordings which there are videos on my channel that will blow your mind.
Ultimately it comes down to cost but while that’s a consideration it is also wonderful to have many different takes and often or not the album art is fantastic.
      Thankyou Nick
