I’m not sure if myself or someone else already recommended this, but if you can find them, there are two audiobooks called Spock Vs Q and Spock Vs Q the seQuel… they’re hilarious stuff. They were written out as scripts that Leonard Nimoy and John DeLancie originally performed live in front of an audience at some Star Trek conventions and then later I believe re-recorded for the release of them on cassette and CD. Im sure you’d find them incredibly amusing, hearing them banter back and forth is wonderful, it’s basically logic vs chaos.

He said it in the past tense, answering Jen's question.
The one for me is in TOS, "This Side of Paradise," at the end, Kirk tells Spock "we haven't heard much from you" and the camera zooms in on Spock and he says, "Not much to say, Captain, except that for the first time in my life I was happy."

"it's the ghastly truth Mr. Data i can now stub my toe with the best of them." De Lancie is just so great in this episode learning he can't be the omnipotent trickster he was before. One of my favorite episodes. Plus this episode unlike most others he gets a chance to interact with more of the crew.. From Worf, to Crusher, Data, Geordi and Guinan too.. but his kinship with Data in this episode was just too good.

This is my 3rd favorite Q episode. Casting John de Lancie in this show as Q was really genius. I guess it's hard to prove that nobody else could have pulled off this role because, well, it's hard to imagine anyone else as Q, isn't it? Funny story. When I saw him in this, I recognized him as a character named Eugene from Days of our Lives.
Confession time. I hated Q in Encounter at Farpoint. By the end of TNG, I loved his character. I still don't much care for the first season but Encounter at Farpoint is obviously essential viewing and it does age a little bit better than some of the first season episodes.

Woohoo another Q episode, always a wild time whenever Picard's biggest and best frenemy stops by! Not enough can be said for how perfect John de Lancie is as the character of Q, nor how remarkable that he and his character have had such a lasting impact on the franchise, given how few episodes and limited screen time he had to leave such a mark.

Missed the first half going live, glad I can go back through your log and pick it up again.
Love any Q episode, they way he interacts with the crew he's like a disobedient unofficial member 😂

What a wondeful and funny episode,I laughed at several scenes with Q,the Mexican band in the last scene of this episode,it always makes me chuckle,a lot. LOL. Q meeting the other Q in the shuttle craft, their banter was GOOD,etc,etc,..this episode never ceases to amuse and entertain me.

Sure, Q is kind of an A-Hole (absolute power will do that), but he's a great character and John De Lancie plays him with a menacing yet irreverent glee that makes me anticipate his episodes. Plus, he provides some of the best comic relief in the entire series. Cheers and Happy Next Jen Sunday to All Y'all. 🥃🖖

This is a great 'fish out of water' story that provides alot of really good character development for Q, Data, and Guinan, of all people. The moment at the end where Data spontaneously bursts out laughing is probably my single favorite moment out of any episode in the entire series. The momentary pause in the fit, with the perfectly straight-faced turn towards everyone else before he starts cracking up again, along with Deanna's reaction, is just gold. I loved that Jen had the same reaction to that moment that I do, it's just so unexpected and joyous.

What is the primary mission of the Enterprise? To seek out new life, new civilizations. That's pretty much what Q represents. But every time they see him, they're like "Get off my ship Q!!" That doesn't really square with what they're out there to do.

Here’s the difference: In *ANY* field of science, during research you’ll find outliers in data sets. You spend some time to figure out how or why they’re outliers but they’re not relevant & 99% of the time they appear by random chance & annoyingly skew results.
Now imagine being on The Enterprise trying to study anthropology/physics/psychology/biology etc… & the *same* outlier could interfere wherever/whenever specifically to get in the way.

Excellent reaction yes the The queue continuum took his powers away because he dared to offer powered because he dared to offer the power commander: Ryker and he refused it so the idea of him trying to give the power of the Q to a human was very upsetting to them so that his powers away But then when he did something selfless to save the enterprise, he realize he learned but the issues his power so much get back to him besides, he’s the expert on humans. The Q need to keep an eye on humans. The laugh was a genuine human laugh only temporary because he wanted to stay android do you wanna be a human so Q had to make it short-lived? thanks for the fun until next time.

Picard's exasperation towards Q is part of the reason I love Q so much! Lol. It's delightful to watch the two of them play off of each other. And I agree, Jen, Data and Q together is a wonderful pairing! :) Such a delight to watch this one again with you!

Notes: Aha! I get it now! I read some of the comments below about you versus Cassie, and now that I've seen your reaction too, my guess is that they saw hers before seeing yours, as has happened with me now. 🤔
I enjoy both of you very much! My only basis for favoritism is that as far as I know, you're single and she's... "Married... With Children"! 😅
Quick memory test for myself, okay! Ahem.
    Gates McFadden? ✅️

    John de Lancie? ✅️
Whoopi Goldberg? ❌️ (Contact established via "The View" though.)
They have recast the role of "Guinan" for the newer series! The character is very long lived and doesn't age as Whoopi has, so it only makes sense. I have only seen "Star Trek: Prodigy" though, of the newers shows. So I don't know why John is still playing his "Q"! 🤷‍♂️
Corbin Bernson of "L.A. Law" fame is "Q2"! I never met him either.
    Bye for now. 😊

John Delance the actor that plays Q also had a role in my mothers soap opera "Days Of Our Lives" as Eugene. He played a whacky guy that on the show had hallucinations of a mermaid that he conversed with regularly. He had mental health problems but not serious ones. I think he stopped having the hallucinations when he got himself a real girlfriend named Caliope. She was played by Arleen Sorkin who also did the voice of Harly Quinn on Batman the Animated Show. He was fun to watch on that show also. Even though he gets a little annoyed if you bring it up at a con.

Except for the most recent ones....I also have seen Star Trek Picard which is one of the new shows (I have seen the whole thing).) But personally I feel the same way about him that Picard does. Certainly at this point in the series lmao. But he does make you think about immortality, omnipotence etc. Star Trek is always a thought provoking show. 🙂
