My daughter used to put our boxer on the trampoline and then sit on him ... he never ever refused to get on the trampoline. Another time I heard him yelp went running out to see what the problem was and my little 3 year old was "cleaning" his ear with a stick! He would go walking with them on the property and never leave their side. He was an amazing boy. Our next boxer we taught to smile and then one time she smiled at these two girls in the car next to us at the lights and they laughed and laughed And that was her party trick, she would pull faces and smile at kids in cars next to us. Her sense of humour was hilarious. She would jump out from behind walls and try and scare us. too funny. Boxers are super easy to train, very protective very gentle and very loving. The more you have them with you, the better the dog. My boy goes everywhere with me and is never more than 2metres from me. Hes now trained himself to sit between my legs if we are out at a cafe and acts like my personal security guard and watches everyone. I think actually hes training me. I now have to say "say hi" before he lets strangers near. I wouldnt have any other breed. gorgeous animals.
I have had 13 boxers throughout my life.. my mom was drawn to them, when as a child her house had a smoldering fire and their boxer, Major, woke my grandpa up by jumping on him!!! Everyone got out, but would maybe not have, due to smoke inhalation. I’m 41 and have my 12th boxer at this moment. I LOVE everything about them!!!!
We lived in what the Americans call a dublex. The neighbours son petrol bombed the house. We had no smoke detectors at that time - mid 80s. Our boxer,Sam dragged my sister out of bed and saved her life.
Both of my boxers were VERY protective of my grandchildren. If the kids did something wrong, the dogs would not let me correct the kids at all. The dogs automatically stood between myself and the kids. I miss the dogs very much, I always knew we would always be safe with them there. DC/Lex
Bentley is a very good boy and definitely not the exception, but the rule, when it comes to Boxers. This is exactly how my boy acts. He would take all sorts of poking, slapping, pinching and pulling from my little nieces and nephews (until I would stop them) without flinching. He would also instinctively protect ANY baby or kid from ANY adult. I went to pick up a friends baby in my back yard and my boy would, non-aggressively, position himself in my path to try to block me out. Just amazing instincts.
Their Instinct is just amazing… I couldn’t agree more. Bentley is now 4y old. He got more mature and more protective to the kids… juts love that breed !
I would not have any other dog but a boxer around kids. My 15 month old fawn boxer lays on the coach and watches my 3 month old grand son as he plays in the portable bassinet. When the baby cries, she will go and get his mother or my wife. She will not leave the baby when he’s here. When my grand daughter comes over, she follows her everywhere. My 2 daughters were raised with boxers and they were gentle with them.
Story two. My wife was visably pregnant, she was visiting a friend, she had our 2 year old boxer Ruby, with her, the reason for the visit was Ruby's brother, Bertie lived there, it was a play date. When they first went into the garden,Bertie was doing his usual boxer zoomys, he started heading towards my wife, she turned waiting for the impact, he didn't get there Ruby took him out and told him off, my wife was amazed, Ruby was such a gentle soul. RIP Ruby , didn't quite make it to three, 😔 I'm really sad now. Where's that Mavis, she'll cheer me up.
I've had boxers before I had children, they are good with children, both bitches I had, used to lay on the stairs so as my young girls couldn't go up the stairs. I didn't train them to do that, I had an old boy and he used to lay by a cabinet, I found my 1 year old girl using him as a stepping stool, he never moved. I also heard my three year old saying " ride like the wind bullseye" yes she was riding him like a horse. My lovely Fergus.
My son was born early, and was only 1.8 kg or 4 pounds when he came home. Our Boxer was so gentle with him. About 7 months my son started walking and climbing and he climbed all over our male boxer. He used him as a stepping stone to get onto the couch and one time he stepped on the wrong part of the dog. Our boxer just groaned and stayed still while I picked up my son.
My Boys know that if something happens to me? Food thingy stops. TulleyRue and Johhny Lucasi understand the rules. They sit on the couch? They are a Guest.
I’ve owned two boxers, and there absolutely amazing with kids and everyone
My boxer is rough as hell with me, but extremely patient and gentle with my kids.
They are the BEST dogs with children. ❤

Best breed in the world most loyal with no training it's instinct!!!!
Boxers are a lot tougher then they get credit for , they are crazy strong and athletic like no other dog . And have the patience of a saint
And very fearless
Yes, they are gentle with kids. Mine was. They are highly intelligent dogs. They know what's going on.
Agreed for sure !
They are such protective and lovable pets to have.

My boxer is a blessing. She's so gentle but is very protective of me and she's beyond loyal. I love her to pieces. My niece and her are BEST FRIENDS.
