    Agree with the execution on those Carmina's... Just lovely! I wasn't aware that Baker's Russian Calf was available in any other colour than that reddy brownish colour? Sons of Henrey is also a great value option! Lovely shoes all, and a fantastic year for your wardrobe! Keep it coming!!

    Happy new year to you. Sorry to hear about your G&G travel shoe trees. Which shoe trees will you now use for your G&G shoes? Does it matter if the shoe tree is not an exact match to the last? Could you please do a video on the different types of shoe trees you have from the different shoe makers and their respective prices, materials used and if they are interchangeable? Many thanks.

      I gave the regular trees for them and only the deco square has a specific tree, which I need to order. Just waiting until I buy my next shoe to save shipping. I’ve done a few videos on this topic th-cam.com/video/qj0J_f-MNDQ/w-d-xo.html

      @@wishoeguy Definitely a good year. Although for many of those, I didn't really know my true size and therefore some have been half a size too big so now I'm debating with myself whether to get the correct size and salvage what I can from the originals or just live with it.

    • @UnknownUser-rb9pd
      @UnknownUser-rb9pd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@navigatelegalservicesllc If they are only a half size too big it is easy enough to add a thin leather insole to take up the space. The only time this might be an issue if the shoe is quite snug over the vamp below the laces as they will raise your feet slightly in the shoe.
      These are available relatively cheaply on Amazon from brands like Lenzen (including cheaper multi-packs) which I have found to be fine though there are more premium insoles available but often they do take up more room as the leather and underlay is thicker.

    • @navigatelegalservicesllc
      @navigatelegalservicesllc 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@UnknownUser-rb9pd Those are what I use on my larger sizes but with shoes on the same last where I have my true size everything is so much better; there’s less creasing along the vamp, the proportions are better on my body, and they’re more comfortable all on my feet. Some of them I’ll live with it but others I’d like to replace.

    It’s a shame that Allen Edmonds quality continues to disappoint. Unfortunately I believe that is the story of American craft. It is has been replaced by the bean counter and the profit.

    • @wishoeguy
      @wishoeguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So few of the shoes are made in the US. All closing except special Make-ups was done in the DR as well as some lines of shoes. Honestly my DR shoes beat the quality of the ones up the road. I think it’s just hurrying to get them done vs done right. For that I don’t blame the craftsman, it’s a leadership issue.

    Wow. I've been following WI Shoeguy for a number of years. You've really taken the shoes up several levels! I would like some advice about sizings: I want to by a pair of shoes for my 50th birthday. Now I don't have the budget for Acme, Scafora et al; I'm thinking more TLB Mallorca or Carlos Santos. I'm a UK 10 but a G width (may have put a few pounds on over the past couple of years, ahem) and have problems as a lot of RTW are in F widths. What advice would you have for me, brands, fit etc. I, too like split toes but am thinking Adelaides of austerity brogues in brown....I'm done with Ebay shoes (!)....
    Best
    Tony

      Kostas at the Noble Shoe can help fit you into a pair of CS shoes. Hit him up on Facebook or email.

    • @wishoeguy
      @wishoeguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tony. I’d not shy away from brands because of the width. The issue you’ll find is that they won’t stock them as RTW but nearly everyone I’ve chatted with will actually make shoes in different widths but they can’t stock them. A lot of makers also have specific lasts to accommodate wider feet and can direct you appropriately. So I’d write to them on IG or email based on their contact us section of the website. TLB has the mto section which allows you to choose a G last. But if you want a stock shoe in a G last write to Toni and ask about the process. In the past he just did a one off order. As the other comment mentioned on CS, Kostas can help. Thanks.

    Any plans to go bespoke proper and review shoe and process? G&G - thats a poor show re shoe trees.

    • @wishoeguy
      @wishoeguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not yet. I’ve got a few more RTW brands to do first and I need to see how travel rebounds. Bespoke is much more affordable if I’m in town for fittings vs having to travel for them.

      On GG I should have noted I love my std trees from them. Just not the travel.
