Being from Southern California (wall to wall concrete for 50,000 square miles) it never ceases to shock me the amount of vast open land there is in the USA. And the fact that thunderstorms exist 😀.

Not American, but I keep a track of the American tornado season. Yes, it does bother me that this is happening in January. Kind of like having big out of season northwest systems hitting my country, New Zealand with 400mm (16") of rain in our winter in the Canterbury high country - happened in July 2021. Then last year a massive system slammed Nelson with (500mm/20") over three days also in winter. Normally too cold for this kind of weather in July.

Does not need to be condensed (have a full funnel) to be a tornado, as long as the vortex is on the ground then it is officially a tornado

Everything about this footage looks identical to the Winterset tornado last year I think.
I was right behind that tornado that day but it was too fast for me to catch up and see it! Wish I had gotten ahead of it in time.
