We are watching you as ARMY because we are interested to hear your thoughts as a film maker. If anyone is making you apologize on your own channel you need to overlook them. I appreciate that you did this one even if you didn't think it was in your lane. If you loved the original ON I think you would really like Not Today MV, it has a similar cinematic look. Keep doing you, I enjoy it.

I think you should stop apologizing for talking about the drones or cinematography stuff! I mean you ARE filmmaker and we are watching your video because we are interested on that! Dont apologize please! :)
Your commentary is really interesting. Its never annoying when you hit that pause button, you are the first reactor and filmmaker that talks about the type of cameras, the type of lights and panels? light panels? they use.
I know Im not the only one learning new things with your videos. I love it, I really do.

That’s what makes BTS special. No matter what makes you excited, BTS can provide it & that’s why there are so many good reactors (as long as they aren’t just looking for clicks) you can focus on your passion wether it’s former dancers breaking down the dance practices, cinematographers breaking down production, music producers talking about the layering of the mixes/instruments,/vocals, song writers or rappers talking about lyrics, or vocal coaches discussing technique. You have a unique perspective so be you 💜
thanks for checking it out but I’m gonna continue to shout in your comments about Daechwita until you watch it 🤣

I don’t think anyone expected you to be super moved by the choreography! It’s not what gets you and that’s fine. That’s why BTS is amazing, because it has so many different sides to their art that they affect people for very different reasons. For me, it’s usually the lyrics that hit the hardest, while I love and appreciate the rest and I find it interesting, the lyricisms is what keeps me engaged.
I do think that BTS is a good opportunity to see how they deal with filming choreography. In the us, their choreo is rarely filmed well and you can really tell the difference between someone who knows what they’re doing and someone who’s never filmed group dancing before. Someone else commented about the savage “good camera” “very good camera” incident and I think maybe you’d find that interesting! (Basically some show aired a BTS performance filmed terribly, just ruining all the perspectives of the choreography. So big hit released a series of videos basically schooling them on how to film choreography. Using the same choreo, they showed the difference between filming it correctly and filming it badly).

Definitely don't feel like you have to comment on the choreography! We're here to hear what YOU take away from the videos. There are plenty of other dancers who do reactions that break the choreo down. It's enough that you respect that aspect of their artistry and keep an open mind. I think it's really cool that you wanted to challenge yourself in this way. I really enjoyed your take on the drones and the camera movements, and some of the visual elements. Keep it up!
Also if you're looking for another great video to react to, I recommend the serendipity comeback trailer. It's simple and just features jimin but it has so many brilliant moments of cinematography that I know you'll love it.

We appreciate you stepping out of your comfort zone and reacting to this completely choreo based MV! At the same time we really do not expect you to also be a choreography expert or feel it that deeply if it’s simply not your thing. I think the reason why most people wanted you to react to this version of ON is because mostly here and in their live performances you can see best how their choreography is filmed and it adds a lot to the final result. When they go to US and perform there... it is so awkward to watch, cause camera work just seems lazy.
When they were just starting out (~2014), there was this one incident still in Korea, when during their performance (which was heavily choreographic) camera work was terrible. After it their company released a savage video that they filmed themselves and there are like three versions in same video called very good camera, good camera, etc. I’ll leave the links here to the performance that was terribly filmed and then company’s response to it.

I wasn't ARMY at that time, so what I dug up is that there was a dance battle between BTS and GOT7, and GOT7 somehow got a lot better camera work than BTS... at the same show... It was interesting to hear your perspective on both ON videos. I'm a big fan of the Kinetic Manifesto version, because it really just puts the members themselves and their artistry at the forefront, and I've often thought that the more cinematic video wasn't necessary in favor of them doing an mv for one of the other great songs from the mots7 album (though I still appreciated some parts of the cinematic version.) But I realize that different types of art effect people differently, and it's cool to hear a perspective from someone who likes the cinematic version better.
Also, please react to the Black Swan mv! I think you'll really like that one. And I also have to mention Agust D's Daechwita if no one has recommended that yet, because that mv is pretty much shot like a movie (Agust D/ Suga is one of the BTS members, and that is a solo song from his mixtape.)

Don’t worry about not having anything to say about the choreo. This reaction has really got me thinking!
I have never heard of using diffusers in full sun. I never thought you would need to use them outside unless it was night and you were using straight up studio lights. Although now I think on it I do remember in the behind the scenes of their one shot dance video that a poor guy with a poster size diffuser was running around in the wind and drizzle with the throng of people desperately trying to stay behind the camera operator. Don’t know what I thought he was doing, maybe just keeping the wind off?
You explained previously how diffusers work for softening the light from a direct source beam, but are they ever used as like a soft reflector? I’m just thinking of the location - is it possible that they chose it not only for the grandiose expanse, but also because the ground itself is so bright that a lot of light would reflect back up and do some of that softening for them? Is that even how light works? As a musician and a story teller, I pay attention to totally different things when I watch these videos, and now I have so many questions.

Behind the scenes to ‘Save Me’ shows how the video was shot in one take and the camera work and fitness required to film it. The mv itself is all dance but the behind the scenes will give you the shooting aspects that you are looking for as well as seeing all the dance routine from the mv.
Don’t worry about not being into dance, we are watching your channel because you are a filmmaker,l really hope ARMY suggest more cinematic videos because that is what you like.

As a BTS fan I’m attracted to their form of art, the music, choreography and lyrics, etc. however, I’m also interested in the how like visual effects, cameras and equipment, something that it wouldn’t be in the sketches so getting your perspective as a cinematographer helps with the understanding of what’s going on from a different angle, helps me pay attention to other details like lighting and background and realize how those details enhance the experience so thank you for taking the time to do these reaction videos.

It’s ok to not get moved by dancing, people are different. I love that you got out of your comfort zone and tried something new. You can always express your feelings, don’t hold back. Feelings are very personal, no one can tell you how you should feel about anything.
I love dancing and music, I don’t love the making off the videos so much, though it’s very interesting, I don’t really understand about cameras and stuff but it’s nice to watch you getting all excited about that 🤍😊

That’s the great thing about BTS there are so many things you can like. You don’t have to like or love choreography. You can love how cinematic they are in their videos. You’re a filmmaker so it’s okay. Don’t apologize BTS makes media for everyone. Art is to take what resonates with you. Black swan I think is really great when it comes to cinematography the actual music video. Honestly bro don’t sweat it.

Wow! I love watching your reactions, I learn so much. In all the gadzillions of times I've watched this video I never noticed that swoop of the camera early in the video because I've been too focused on the dance and music. It was stunning, just breathtaking, and it reminded me that I need to pay more attention to the whole of the experience. There were so many moments during your reaction that caused me to think and see differently. Thank you. As others said, please don't apologize for getting passionate about what most moves you, even if what moves you isn't what most moves others. Passion for art and beauty is beautiful itself. Don't feel that you have to be passionate about what others are passionate about. People are different, which is also a beautiful thing, otherwise it would be as if we lived on Camazotz :-). they had a famous fpv drone pilot for that video. but it wasn't a GoPro on top, i think it might have been a GH5 or sth like that. there is a behind the scenes video where you can see the drone flying around all the time. but they only used very few scenes. sometimes you can also spot the shadow of the drone on the ground if you look very closely.

Thank you for this video! I was wondering if people were going to ask you to watch this one, because I wasn’t sure if it would really resonate the way the other one did, considering that it’s a dancing video (I mean, to simplify). Even though dancing isn’t your art form, I really appreciated your commentary on the ways the camera work affected or helped to create emotion!
I think that Spring Day might be good? It’s really pretty; a lot of people really love it because there’s a lot of symbolism tied to a real life tragedy that occurred. That said, I found it moving and interesting visually before I knew the details - it’s just even more so after? IDK.
regardless thank you for these videos. I am really enjoying what you bring to analysis of these MVs.

I'm always looking for people with a new, fresh take on their music, choreo, videos, whatever. I think you're awesome, and I've enjoyed all of your reactions thus far. Please don't apologize. You're doing great :). I'll look forward to your future reactions!!

Though you are not a music person like most ARMYs(I see choreography as some form of music as well it's just music expressed by body motion) nor u resonate with the lyricism, but I am so thankful that u try to understand how BTS music's impacts on ppl. There are only a few reactors who expertise in filmmaking or visual arts so it's actually quite eye-opening for most of us.
To give some kind of extra info, ON is the title song of the Map of the Soul: 7 album. The Map of the Soul album series is based on the thesis of Jung's Map of the Soul, about the theories Carl Jung created for psychology. A person has different faces - persona, shadows and ego. So we have songs(in order): Intro: Persona and Boy with Luv as the title song of the Persona album to show their "happy/world-star" persona which is for the general public only; Interlude: Shadow and Black Swan as pre-lease single to express their inner struggles/dark sides. then ON and at last Outro: Ego which is the ultimate identity if u accept and combine all your faces. Hope my extremely long comment is useful for you!!
Btw, the other music videos in the series I think u would be interested include Shadow and maybe Black Swan.
English is not my mother language so sorry for any mistakes in advance.

I appreciate your honesty and your caution tbe not disrespectful or unappreciative of other forms of art different from your major domain.
It's interesting to me when you comment on your art domain in context of BTS. For one, I knew that eventho BigHit wasn't strong financially at the start, but they basically threw their money in for BTS and their arts, but I didn't know they used that very expensive 200K camera for blood sweat and tears. It rlly shows that even while they were still growing, the put major significance in producing the best art form they can

I feel like you don't have to force yourself to watch or enjoy things that you don't. If dancing is not your thing, it's just not and it's your right x)
I mean, I prefer see someone react to things they are truly interested in. It's really nice of you to try, already, so thank you for that.
About, the clothes, this song "ON" is the title track of Map Of the Soul : 7. And the whole serie "Map of The Soul" is about finding balance between your "Persona", and your "Shadow" wich is the "Ego" (it's all from Carl Jung's psychology) and the title track is here for giving a global representation of the album so it makes sense with the dark and white clothes.
If you want to see a little more about that you can react to the three MV's "Persona", "Shadow" and "Ego" (in that order), it's the intro, prelude and outro of the album/serie and these three tracks are shaping the album/story. (Also, each one is a solo song by one the rappers, so it's normal if you see only one member in each one)
    "Persona" by RM : th-cam.com/video/M9Uy0opVF3s/w-d-xo.html
    "Shadow" by Suga : th-cam.com/video/PV1gCvzpSy0/w-d-xo.html
    "Ego" by J-Hope : th-cam.com/video/LmApDbvNCXg/w-d-xo.html
Anyway, thank you for your video, and don't worry, I really think that the people who are watching your videos are here for your interest and insights on the cinematography. You have very interesting videos, and that's the only thing who matters :)
Oh and by the way, they have way more emotional dancing in my opinion, and what could be interesting is to see your reaction to their 2020 MMA (an award show) performance, it was last december so it's a pre-recorded "live" performance, and BTS had fun last year with creating their live performances as there is no audience, so the result is incredible, not just their performance (dancing/singing as ususal) but the set designs, and everything else too ! Here the link : th-cam.com/video/PtaP4UkZKyc/w-d-xo.html

I am someone who gravitates more to dance than you so It’s cool to see your insights and learn about the film side of things! And, after watching several of your reactions to the film style MVs, it’s quite clear that you are a visual storyteller and not a dancer.
In the film style ON reaction you had crazy insights I had never noticed like all the rejected drums behind Jimin before he found the one that worked. 🤯
