"Feel Like Making Love' is not a D'Angelo song, he only interpreted and covered the song on his Voodoo album circa 2000. The song was also recorded and covered by many more popular musical artists, such as; Gladys Knight and The Pips, Issac Hayes, George Benson, Johnny Mathis, Lou Rawls to name a few. The song was written by singer-songwriter, Eugene McDaniels and originally covered and recorded by soul singer - songwriter, Roberta Flack. Interesting how some people do not credit nor include the actual songwriter of the song. D'Angelo's version was a hit just as well.
Thanks for your comments. I'm quite aware that the song was written by Eugene McDaniels, and recorded originally by Roberta Flack. It's just that D'Angelos version was my particular inspiration. Eventho I'm a huge fan of some other artists who recorded it as well, I didn't actually love this song until I heard D'Angelos very unique interpretation.
well when you reinterpret a song, that interpretation becomes yours, especially if there are some distinct differences in instrumentation. real ones will always know the song is Roberta Flacks, but with the energy you're putting out, you could also be upset that D'Angelo himself didnt put her name in the song title

McDaniels for “Feel Like Making Love” off of DAngelos VOODOO ALBUM because DAngelo has integrity and doesn’t need to take credit for anyone’s music!!

D’Angelo didnt put Roberta Flacks name anywhere when he released his version of the song. people still knew it was a reinterpretation of her song. if it was on his youtube page, that still means that her name isnt in the title regardless. doesnt matter, nor is it even seen as “taking credit”
