Any lip product that claims to “work with” my lips, self adjust, customize, etc. are ALWAYS bright neon pink. No exceptions. Does not matter the starting color.

There are pinker shades in the lip glow family, but they never turn too neonish. Rosewood and mahogany are nice neutrals that are browny or berry type that don't turn bright pink. There are also darker shades that don't do this as well

I'm so excited to try these! Just got the clinique's black honey and fresh's rose lip balm. I'm starting to like sheer colors more because they look more flattering on more people and are lower maintenance.

@Guusje van Dijk I have an opinion on this, so I'll respond. Personally, I like the Black Honey, but it has no staying power on me. Looks great for a half hour or so, but I need to reapply constantly. I'm looking forward to finding something similar with better longevity.

I love this tinted lipbalm! It's something I just grab no matter what shade and love it, I have the older formula, but I have the pink, holographic pink and berry, and I love them all, not matter my makeup or what I'm wearing, I can wear any of the colors and they look so beautiful with everything!

I have tan skin and I love this balm in the shade cherry it’s super smooth, easy to apply, luxurious and the tint looks gorgeous 🥰
To be honest, it turns me off when companies claim to use “natural ingredients” since this isn’t something that is regulated or has a real definition. Having chemicals doesn’t mean that something is bad for you. I wish that companies would steer away from that idea and be more transparent. 😔
Finally someone who’s agrees!! I don’t understand why people always go on about “natural ingredients.” Natural does NOT equal good
I would add that some "natural ingredients" like menthol in mint found in lip balms, especially ones labeled 'plumping' or 'medicated' are thing some people want to avoid since they can be irritating if applied over chapped, sensitive lips repeatedly.
This was the MOST helpful video! My lips are naturally red and pink colors always look bad... I remember buying the shade Rosewood and being so disappointed bc it was too neon orange on my lips! So the fact that you tried them all - tremendously helped me. Thank you! Truly informative and helpful 💕
The Dior Addict lip maximizer in berry is a much more true berry tone. And fades down to an almost lilac stain. It’s so beautiful.
For me, Rosewood is proper nude. My natural lips are fairly purply-pink though, so that might make it natural how pink it is. I’d like to still have a good cool pink from this line when I have the money for it, as the sugar scrub brings out a nice shade of light pink but I obviously don’t want to use that one too often.

I haven’t gotten a chance to try the reformulated version yet but this swatch video has really tempted me!! I have noticed that many of the shades look the same on my lips, probably due to their “color reviving” feature. The coral color on my lips looks like all of the other hot pinks to me. The differences in the colors are much more apparent in your swatches!

Dior’s Rosewood 012 is the dreamiest shade and my absolute favourite browny berry hue, and I don’t think anything will ever replace it. I’m very intrigued by the new formula and the shade Mahogany looks right up my alley, not too keen on all the pinks as they don’t flatter me, and I’m lamenting the edit to my beloved Rosewood, (why change something SO perfect?!) but once again, fantastic video, really informative and exactly what I needed this evening 🤍🤎💄

as much as I adore these balms, rosewood and mahogany were the only ones I really enjoyed and would recommend! having only one of the other shades is enough bc they kinda look identical on the lips, also the packaging is stunning

I love the Dior lip glow! Used up so many of these. However, I need to say that my one and only 006 berry has now become more of a pink in the new formula. I have swatched and used both new and old formulas but the old one was more pigmented with more of a berry purple color coming through. The new formula is more sheer and pink with a subtle berry color on me. I also liked the balmy texture of the old one more, but I’ve gotten used to the new one now! I think it does need a few more glides to get the pigment I want, but still my go to everyday lip color:)

I got berry and plum!! And I really loveeeee these shades. I'm tempted to get more berry colors because my lip color is already pigmented. So I would recommend these shades if you want a more darker color!
Mahogany is definitely my favorite and not as pink on me, as you stated. I love that the formula is not sticky or real shiney.
I have the plum, rosewood, and mahogany because of you, and I love them all! I never tried the old formula but I love them how they are now. They feel worth the money to me and they actually give me some moisture that if I forget my lip balm and just have this, I’ll be ok for the day.

@@matildaonvideo I love the plum, it comes off more of a muted fuchsia on me, but I love fuchsia lip colors. It was labeled limited edition at Sephora when I got it.

Also Matilda, Estee Lauder released new lip balms and the color number 7 is a really pretty kind of chocolate berry. The texture is also a bit thinner than the Dior lip glow. I think you'd might like this one.

I used to love this formula even before the reformulation ( found it more soft then, but now i also find it soft and sweet). My favorite in the old range used to be berry, it works with my lip color to be a bluer pink, really a berry. In the new range i tried rosewood( because i love the rosewood in the maximizer formula) but on me it's very nude and almost clear( like the reviver technology is gone) . The newest one is plum. I think you would find it interesting is a really cold berry, darker than berry, and deeper. It makes me look like i have been cold and is borderline blue and purple on me, but in a good way. In my head it could be in the black honey family but more berry and cold. I think it goes with the tones in my lips, all the soft purples and berries look quite natural on me. I am now waiting to finish one of them before repurchasing berry . I was hesitating between berry and raspberry but i think berry will win

i love these ! the original pink & coral have been repurchases & i love the holographic pink !! that’s a colour i want to see again. we have bronze here (if it’s in stock!) but not rosegold, which looks a lot like the holo colour. i’ve not tried the new formula yet but will definitely get a couple to replenish when i’m done with the ones i have.

Thank you so much for this review! I think you saved me a whole heap of money. I've been sitting on this for several months and have been itching to buy it and try it, but I have had a similar experience where all of those tinted balms which react with lip pH just turn a neon pink on me! I've never understood it but hated it so much. Let's be honest, I think this product is probably going to do the same. I'm probably better off just getting a tinted lip gloss or something. Thank you again, this is amazing.
I own many and exactly for the reasons you mention: comfortable, adds sheer color, easy to use. I only have one new formula in 012 Rosewood but can’t tell much of a difference between new and old. To me each shade had a slightly different texture anyhow (at least the old formula did to me) so not extremely noticeable. What I did notice, though, is that you get less product with the new version for the same price 😢
Really liked this video, and found the same as you, they’re mostly variations of pink. For Rose Gold I just layer another shade on top and it helps to even out the glitter ✨🌸

I love mahogany so so much, a great winter shade, especially when I'm wearing an all grey or all black outfit. I was slightly disappointed by rosewood bc like you said it comes up super pink and i thought it would a bit more.. rosewood? lol

So happy to see this! I’m waiting for the VIB sale in April to pick up mahogany. I was tempted by rosewood but I’m afraid it will turn hot pink as all those types of “reviving colour” balms tend to do…
I wouldn't say Mahogany is a hot pink (even though it can obviously look different on all of us). I mention that it turns into a deeper pink as it fades, but it's nothing like the really bright 001 Pink base a lot of the others seem to have 💕 x
Ps. Sorry, just realised I misread your comment! I would put Rosewood into the hot pink category sadly. It's much brighter on me than the bullet colour itself, which would have been beautiful 😭 x

I bought Cherry, Rose Gold & Raspberry & I can see a real difference between each colour on my lips. I am ultra picky about the slightest difference in shade/tone when it comes to my makeup & hair, so maybe the difference wouldn't be as visible to someone looking at me.

I think they are so much better than the OG version. I agree with you that they are lighter and much nicer to apply. I found with the OG, they would move to my lip line and remain there as a much darker version of pink. Not a look I enjoyed. I have the Cherry and the Mahogany now and find them to be super nice. A great "throw in your bag" type product. I am addicted to lippies so I think I MUST get the Rosewood shade next. Love your videos Matilda!

Love mahogany! I use it as a light tint of color more than for the moisturizing effect. I do have the old lightest pink one as well amd it’s quite pink on me which I didn’t love so used it only occasionally. If my lips are really dry I reach for my bite Beauty lip mask. Best moisturizer for extra chapped lips ever!
We have the same approach! I reach for these for sheer colour rather than hydration too ☺️👍 Do you use the new Bite Beauty lip mask? I remember a lot of disappointment when they reformulated a while ago so I haven't tried the new version yet x
@@matildaonvideo I was disappointed also when they reformulated. I tried several other lip therapies including lanolin containing ones, but this one still was the best! And I got used to the new formula and don’t remember the old one. I do still love it! My kids do too
Have you tried the sephora exclusive? It's an orangey red. Very nice, yet a slightly drier formula.
I'm glad I watched this. I didn't know they ph adjusted. Now I'm thinking getting this as a present for my little cousin, instead of getting it for myself.
These turn bright pink on me too, which I don’t love. I found a way to make them work, though, by using them as a base lip balm and then topping them with a darker brown lipstick, blotted on for a blurred effect.
The bright pink balm mixes with the brown, creating a semi sheer browny/berry/red that lasts for hours. Reapply only the brown shade as the hot pink base is already stained in place. I’ve even dabbed it on my bare cheeks as a cream blush. Now I am never without a pH mood lip tint balm.

I just bought one! I got the cherry color. I get lip fillers so I tend to have a skin toned line around my lips when I don’t have lip color on, so my lips appear smaller than they really are, and I only do lipstick when I go out. I just wanted some color, more natural but noticeable, these are perfect! Plus I hate lip gloss cause it gets in my hair with the slightest breeze. Would recommend!

Easy throw on colour on the go, But I didn’t notice an improvement in the formula at all. Won’t be purchasing for the third time sadly.

Glad you're a Berry fan Amanda! Interesting, I guess we can all have a different take when a formula changes. Mahogany is certainly the star of the range for me now though! 😍 x
The reason why the colour always changes to a similar ‘pinkish’ is because of the dye in the product called Red 27 (CI 45410). It is known as D&C Red #27, and all balms that claim to have a ‘colour changing’ effect have this dye in their formulas. It is transparent, but turns pink when it is exposed to moisture. That is why I never really got the hype for dior lip glow, but it’s DIOR I guess.
but that's exactly what they say. The balm will change colour according to the moisture of your lips. it will be more or less pink depending on how moisturised your lips are. They aren't pretending anything different.

Yay…. I’ve been waiting for you to do a review on these, for a long time 😊 Thank you so much! 🙏🏾 As someone who absolutely hate lipsticks, I love these. I have very pigmented lips, and these give the perfect wash of color (sheer), and gloss. I’ve only ever had the pink 001. I do however have my eyes on raspberry and rosewood. I agree they are not moisturizing. But I’d have to discover a lil trick, if you wash your lips right before putting these on, it locks in the moisture you had prior (this only last for a few hours). Have you done comparison with these and the Charlotte Tilbury tinted lipstick blams yet? If not, can you? Doesn’t have to be all the colors, one will suffice.
So nice to hear you enjoy these, sounds like they'd look gorgeous with your natural lip colour! I think I've filmed with one Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic Happikiss shade in the past.. I do know the texture is very different to Lip Glow! These have a firmer balmy bullet, whereas Charlotte's is much softer, more slippy and really pigmented. I know my friend State of Kait loves them so they often appear on her channel if you're looking for swatches! 💄 x

How do these compare with the Dior Addict Lacquer Sticks? They’re my very favorite lipsticks.
This used to be my favorite lip balm and everyday go to. I really miss the old formula. I find the new formula to be too waxy and difficult to apply, it also doesn’t have the same glossy finish either. :(

I have bright red lips and struggle to find a nude shade tat looks good on me. Either it’s invisible or turns pink. I thought the 012 looked so good, but don’t know if it will look good on my lips? Any tips to if it will fit or other products to try?

I'm very addicted to ilia lip balms, but all the colors seems the same too 😆 I have Runaway and wanderlust. Runaway is most pinkish nude and wanderlust berry brown red ( remindes me Nars Gipsy lipstick I love ) I love texture too. MATILDA DID U SEE THE NEW BLACK HONEY GLOSS?? Is sold out in most places in Canada, it's being difficult to buy.
omg i just ordered one today ... should've waited so i could see your swatches haha ...! but i'm hoping cherry will look nice on me, in my experience their lip glows don't go as pink as you describe. hoping it'll be a sweet cherry shade for summer and spring

If it helps, the cherry shade looks like the perfect red on me. My lips have no pigment though, so I wonder if that’s why it doesn’t pull pink?
i have always used the 001 but now that there are so many new shades, and being a fan of clinique's black honey, you made me want to get the mahogany! have you tried the color 108 "dior"? i am from france and it is on the sephora's website
I haven't tried the new Dior 8 brick red unfortunately, but I mention it later in this video! They don't always launch the same colours in every region but I hope that one comes to Australia 😍 x

I brought the Rosewood shade cause I believed a sales associate who said jttt was a lovely nude balm, but it comes up neon pink on me. I still like the feel, but don't get anywhere near as much wear as I wanted

I have the original pink and coral, and recently bought mahogany with the new formulation. I don't find much of a difference - still hydrating, easy to slap on, and worth the price.
My favorite shade was the 005 lilac but it was discontinued. I wish Dior would bring it back. It was the perfect pink. Not too pink at all.
Do you remember they had this in the Matte Raspberry years ago? That was my favourite and I lost the tube ! :( wish they’d still make it…

The Miss Dior 1947 shade is basically rosewood but not as pink at least on my lips
