That's awesome to hear Bernard! Cockington has such a charming vibe and beautiful scenery. I hope you enjoy your visit-there’s so much to see and experience there. Rob
Yes Diana it is a quintessentially English village with Saxon origins. Some of the quaint thatched cottages and buildings in the village date back to the 16th Century and are mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment :)
Thank you for watching our film, we are glad you enjoyed it. The church is Devon's oldest and has been a place of worship for over 950 years. The pulpit is thought to have come from a Spanish warship during the time of the Spanish Armada. It was washed up in the bay and taken to the Barn where it lay untouched for centuries before being installed in Cockington. Some say it was from where the captain preached and others, that it was the crow’s nest. Thank you for your comment :)
Been many times over my 80+ years, born and grew up in Paignton, timeless hasn't changed at all, apart from the scourge of chem trails, and we all get them.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Your perspective as someone who has seen Paignton and Cockington evolve over the years is a valuable insight to the area. Rob
