Such a great kit,I've just started winter germans
Winter armies are always so much fun to paint
My current WW2 project is far east (and well down the painting list for now!) but always find something useful in your tutorials.
Thank you Andrew 🙂
Excellent video...very informative! I've started to get very interested in Bolt action recently and this all helps
Thank you 🙂
For the first time in a while, you've got me thinking about an airbrush 🤔 My main go to approach to date is zenethal using primers. Then some under highlights usually greyscale or brighter colours e.g yellows under browns etc. Thinned scale 75 paints, usually thinned with speedpaint medium and water, then a thinned wash. But i saw something here that made me think airbrush again. Off to ponder 🤔
I couldn’t do without mine now
@MiniatureRealms I can see why you've really shown the benefits off here for 28 miniatures in particular. Long got it with vehicles, tanks etc but can see some real benefits here. Maybe next year 🤣
These look quite good, Very noticeable step up in detail vs early war german infantry kit, On the box it says they're suitable for every period but for late war honestly (yes i know this mostly refers to rules) Your going to need the grenadiers box and probally the SS box for them to fully look the part. I think this is quite intended perhaps however as warlord seem to put abit more faith in the ability of the average modeller than GW seem to do.
Yes I think you’re spot on, they’re building a range with a lot of scope of kit bashing and conversions.
@@MiniatureRealms A good thing about warlord imo is that they and the vast majority of clubs dont seem to care about whether you have the "official" minis anyway. At least for the most part. Theres alot of cottage house industry minis and kits out there for you to represent specific troops and events sometimes even photos and people. So if one of their kits isnt 100 percent accurate there are alternatives and basically no cares enough to be a "fanboy" and call out that your using the "wrong minis" Making these look like proper late war infantary wouldent require much more than some zeltbahns from the grenadiers kit, Minor modifcation of ss plastics and maybe a small amount of greenstuffing here and there that could literally be done by anyone even mildly familiar with working with expoxy.
Nicely sculpted minis which of course you have painted very nicely and imbued them with plenty of character.
I appreciate your way of painting historical minis which focuses more on the overall appearance with dark shades acceptable for leather etc as details on uniforms can really put off the aspiring historical gamer as they don’t really want to have painted up some nice minis and then be told pity they are all in the wrong colours. I do get it should still be important to get the gist of the colours right but trying to pick exact shades etc would be too hard in my opinion without a great deal of research. I’m interested in the politics and battle specifics but not anywhere near as much about uniform details unless that contributes to my minds eye image of the events
I also really like 2mm tufts as they look more like regular grass. Most stores that sell a lot of 40k don’t really stock that size as they don’t necessarily look as good for sci-fi space marines etc
Thanks mate
I can definitely recommend the tufts I use, great small business as well.
@ Warpaint Figures does great tufts. I’m very happy you put me on to them. I think I’ve picked up around 40 packs from them by now. Static and random with all the different seasons, their flowers and also different sizes for variety.
Their are nice tufts made by larger companies but these are at least as nice if not better and the price point is very good to so you don’t have to be stingy with them lol
